Best performance in the film?

I found myself worried before viewing this. Normally when you put together such a great group of top rate actors the film tanks. Bobby had everything a great film needs exceptional writing and great performances. As for me I personally found myself completely mesmorized with Demi Moore in this film. While I have not ever really been a huge fan of hers, she did a magnificent job as the boozy singer Virginia Fallon. I also thought that Sharon Stone was great in this giving her best performance since Casino. But there were many notable performances specifically from Anthony Hopkins, Laurence Fishbourne and Freddy Rodriguez. Anyone else care to weigh in on this?

Freddy Rodriquez, easily. His was one of, if the only character based on a real person (aside from Bob Kennedy, of course). It was nice to see him in a lead role, instead of getting cast aside as a support character. He was great in the Six Feet Under days, hehehe. Other than him, Fishburne was great too. I would have liked to see more of him though.

Most actors delivered a mediocre performance. I must say Linsey Lohan did a better job then I expected ( not a fantastid performance but still pretty good). The best performances were easily Fishburne's and Rodriguez's. I also liked him a lot in Harsh Times and am looking forward to future work of him.

I would like to have seen Freddie Rodriguez and Laurence Fishbourne's characters have some discussion after the shooting.

I thought (think) that many of the characters are based on actual people, though with changed names (as, indeed, Freddy Rodriguez's character's name was changed also; his character "Jose Rojas" was really Juan Romero).

Additionally:
I suspect that Demi Moore's "Virginia Fallon" was intended to be Rosemary Clooney, a popular singer and Kennedy supporter who was present.

Helen Hunt's character = Elizabeth Evans (the only woman shot at the assassination)

Brian Geraghty was Shia LaBeouf's buddy who gets shot at the end -- That would make him Irwin Stroll (campaign worker who got shot)

Just for a few off the top of my head.

I agree, everyone but Ashton and to a lesser extent, Shia, were pretty good. I usually hate Nick Canon too. But for me, the best of the film was by far Sharon Stone with Fishburn at a close second. Lindsey Lohan was quite sympathetic too.

I would definitely go with Lindsay Lohan and Sharon Stone.

My main problem with the film was how much of the actions and exposition were given away in the dialogue - usually within the first 2 minutes of meeting a character. Maybe I'm just not used to ensembles working that way - I typically figure out little by little of the different characters in most great ensemble movies I've seen - but there was just something off about this movie.

It was a valiant effort by all means...especially the last 20 minutes.

shia labeouf is very good in this film.

I can't believe I'm saying this but Lindsy Lohan.

Rodriguez & Lohan.

And I didn't think it was one of the best, but Cannon's performance was a pleasant surprise (well, besides the part when he was talking to the girl, than he resorted back to goofy NC).

I would have to say Lindsay Lohan, Christian Slater, Harry Belafonte, in that order.

reply

Elijah Wood, Anthony Hopkins, Sharon Stone, Freddy Rodriguez, in that order.

reply

Lindsay lohan, Demi Moore, and Freddy Rodríguez.
And i dont find lindsay being good that odd... shes a very talented actress.

I'm in agreement with you Joshf84, Demi Moore was wonderful in this film. Like you I was completely mesmorized by Demi, mainly because she was playing a role unlike any other she's played and she was fantastic in it. My other favorite performers were Freddy Rodriguez and Sharon Stone. To my suprise, Lindsay Lohan was good in this as well. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed the film, but feel that Demi, Freddy, Sharon and Lindsay stole the show.

reply

yeah i cant belive it too, but Lindsay Lohan

reply

I like the two guys who were stoned on acid. Especially Brian Geraghty.

reply

Shia, he is amzing in every movie he has ever been in and this movie is no exception. He was by far the best.

reply

What, are you guys crazy?! Freddy Rodriguez and Lindsay Lohan by far!

You better be glad you at church! Jesus just saved your life, hallelu-yer!

reply

Freddy Rodriguez, Sharon Stone, Lindsay, and Demi totally stole the show

plus Shia, Anthony Hopkins, Christian Slater, and even Nick Cannon were quite good too (Cannon REALLY surprised me!)

I loved Freddy Rodriquez as Jose, his part really touched me deeply.
As a huge 6 Feet Under Fan, I can say that he went far above and beyond what I came to know him as Rico. His scenes with Laurence were just magical.

Anthony Hopkins, Laurence Fishburne, Lindsay Lohan, Nick Cannon, Sharon Stone, and Helen Hunt.

On IMDb, trolls cannot understand these two words, OPINION and LEAVE.
