at the end performance when lizzie sings "this is what dreeams...DREEA EE HEEEMS" and has her back to the camera, and she does this creepy shaking dance manuver... i almost pee my pants laughing every time i watch that part.

I always noticed that, too. Like you said, it's totally not her saying the "DREEE-EAMS" part, but in the very next shot of her face, when she's saying "This is what dreeeeeeeams are made of," it sounds exactly like her. Parts of the song match her voice perfectly, while others sounded artificial.

shareIt is a body double, my sister was one of the dancers for that scene, and Hillary, being under age at the time could not film more than a certain number of hours in a day, so several shots were done with doubles. Apparently they had a lot of trouble with the double, overacting or dancing (in comparison to Duff). So it is a double.
