here's a haiku I wrote about this annoying movie

Harvey Pekar is
a negative loser who.
works in a *beep* job,

but he happens to
know influential artist,
Mr. Robert Crumb.

Crumb is quite famous
for his groundbreaking comic
but Harvey's a waste.

Seeing Crumb's art skills
he wants to make his own strip
but there's a problem;

He has no talent
artistic skills, vision, or
creativity.

So writes his life
as the comic's storyline.
Unfortunately,

Harvey Pekar is
an angry and childish crank
who cannot see good,

incapable of
expressing the least bit of
positivity.

He makes books, gets fans
but they don't realize that
he's really a jerk.

But wait! There's a girl
from Delaware who writes him.
She is love interest.

Problem is, she's a
total bitch. Perfect match? No.
They don't get along.

You end up wanting
to hurt them both. Crybabies!
Just grow the *beep* up!

Goes on TV show,
Late Night, with Dave Letterman,
creates much chaos.

Later, gets cancer
Gee, i wonder why. Somehow
he beats the disease,

despite his worldview.
(although he should die, since he
doesn't enjoy life.)

In the end, he is
still an annoying *beep*
but now he is old.

Though famous, he has
wasted his life because of
his bad attitude.

you're annoying. apparently this movie compelled you enough to write a long ass poem about it though.

reply

The only thing Crumb could draw is naked women and penises. at lest pekar could come up with something that was intresting to read. Finally unlike Crumb who is stuck in the world of underground comics. Pekar stuff is being publish by companies like Dark Horse and DC.

reply

It's so lecture-y. I guess if you're not some ultra-something-or-other, you don't have the right to exist. . .eh? You should call your poem "Shape up or ship out, Harvey".

As God is my witness,. . .I thought turkeys could fly!

This =/= 7 sylables.

Is it just me, or does a haiku remind anyone else of those tall square glass vases you often see in shops and restaurants these days, containing glass beads or pebbles and three sticks of bamboo with a corkscrew twist in them?
Very Japanese, very minimalist, and a lot of effort to go to for something that isn't actually a vase of flowers.

IF it annoyed you, why did you watch it?

reply

did you really ask that? Apparently you know if you like a movie before you ever watch it. I watch movies first and decide second. You must save a lot of time when deciding what movie to watch. Can you put up a list of movies you haven't seen that annoy you? Also, how can I get this skill because I could do without watching anymore films like American Splendor or Cloverfield

reply

you sure paid close attention to the film to write that thing you did-you do realize that he wrote for crumb right-crumb can draw but has the personality of a wet piece of cardboard-whatever-

keep on keeping on

reply

I can't help but to laugh... it's a good poem... and all in haiku (Bonus!)... can't help to think you cheated with the "Beep", but it fits.. and it's a PG board, so it fits, twice!

I still love Harvey Pekar, but more than that, I love random *beep* like this.

great poem!

I found the movie interesting. however Pekar is a dick!

His negativity overtakes his life even when it's not bad. A bad attitude will get you nowhere.
