Better than 'Alexander'?

Granted "Reign" is only losely based on the life of Alexander the Great. Granted "Reign" is more of a sci-fi epic than historically accurate film. Still, I believe it was better than Oliver Stone's "Alexander" by leaps and bounds. Does anyone else agree?

I definatly enjoyed this series better than the movie. I especially liked how they portrayed Alexander in the anime, at least the English dub of it. He is calm almost all of the time, his voice is smooth and calming, no matter what he is doing. He reeks of confidence. The plot of the anime is also much more far-fetched, but very cool. The episode which takes place in the future Alexandria is very cool, even though I still don't have a full understanding of it. The anime is much, much better. (they just need 1. more episodes and characterization of some of the characters, especially once they cross over into Persia and 2. The same voice actors, when everyone (most notably Ptolemy) changed voiced (and in Ptolemy's case, his whole personality) it was a downside.

Yeah for sure it was heaps better

They show Alexander from two different perspectives, I like more the movie because he was more human, not that powerful.

Trent: Do you ever feel like you're wasting your life?
Daria: Only when I'm awake.

Yep. Then again, I'm nutty, and mad stuff attracts mad people

Haven't seen Alexander yet, but just wanted to say. . .

I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!!

Love, love, love it to death. It is so fascinating and smart. I became obsessed with this show when I was 13 and still am. I especially love the character of Alexander, my favorite.

Even though I have not yet seen Alexander the movie, I am sure it cannot compare with the deep philosphical elements that are Reign. Peter Chung is quite the genius.

The animated Alexander is more of the cool effeminate and good looking level-headed type of leader I would like to imagine as the real Alexander. Colin Farrell was not at all convincing as the greatest military general of all time. I can't believe someone like Colin Farrell as cunning and invincible in battle. Heck, he doesn't even speak like one who can hold his nerve in a fight. The animated Alexander, on the other hand, displayed that kind of confidence.

Colin Farrell is a drunk and it shows in all of his movie roles.

Why he gets any work is a mystery to me.

And yes, this anime is far, far superior to the ridiculous Oliver Stone film.

I love them both but was more entertained by Reign, but fundamentally I think the story of Alexander The Great is a problem to adapt because it is anticlimactic? I have no idea how it should be properly told. On Reign it ends confusingly, what happened to the prophecy?
