When they were in the trees...

So after three fingers kills Carly and the two last survivors throw three finger off the tree are we supposed to believe the mutants just said "ok let's just go have dinner, drink a hot tea, watch TV and take a good nap, we will continue the hunting tomorrow"? To me that was the point in which I totally lost interest for the movie, I mean come on, two unnarmed people, one is limp and they're up in a tree, you would think the mutants will keep tracking them down, they would have to come down sooner or later (and to think there was a full interconnected tree branches for them to run away is dumb too, how far could they have gotten?)

Yeah, the tree sequence is creative and well-done from a production standpoint, but the idea that there were convenient interconnected tree branches for them to run away is serious "Yeah, right" territory. The reason "Deliverance" is so memorable is because it's thoroughly realistic whereas "Wrong Turn," while entertaining to a point, is way too implausible to mention in the same breath.
