Am I the only Kagome fan?

Does everyone else really think Kikyo is better for Inuyasha at this point?

If she hadn't been killed, then, yeah, she'd be perfect for him, but she died. Kagome and Inuyasha are cute together and she's good for him. Kikyo isn't healthy for him at all right now. (In my opinion anyway. I'm definitely open for argument--in fact, I love arguing.)

Ever since the beginning I wanted Inuyasha and Kagome to get together. Despite Kikyo somewhat redeeming herself I always got mad whenever she'd show up and Inuyasha'd go running after her. Dunno if this is weird, but I was very happy when she finally died for good, so the Inu/Kag relationship could finally take hold. Inuyahsa has a strong personality, which is matched by Kagome. They're perfect for each other in my opinion.

I agree Kagome and Inu go perfectly together. Their living soulmates. The the repeated attacks that Kagome took to protect Inu in the anime truly inpressed me In any kind fiction, I've never seen stuff like that, that level of pure devotion.

She was sweet him and cared about his emotional baggage and wasn't selfish (At the very start she didn't like it but unselfishly put it aside after that) to his on going involment with Kikyo.

Orcas are the best.

I'm a Kagome fan... Kikyou is dead.. and even before that, she was way too serious...

Since she is one of the two leads of the show, I truly tried to like her so that viewing it would be more enjoyable. I honestly with all my heart tried. By the 40th or so episode, I just couldn't get past how annoying and helpless she was. As the series continued she, imo, only became worse and worse. And the whole love triangle thing annoyed me the most. Okay, you like him, but he also likes someone else (who was actually there before her). You whine for what feels like an eternity and go home and cry and are ready to abandon all your 'friends' and RESPONSIBILITY (she is the one who shattered the damn jewel in the first place!!!) because of boy troubles?! Good God. Worst of all, she bitches up a hill and down again about how Inuyasha shouldn't be jealous of her and Koga yet she does it 10x worse whenever Kikyo's name is just mentioned. She chooses to be with Inuyasha knowing full well he may never get over Kikyo, and yet she always complains about how tough it is on her. You know what? GO F UCKING HOME THEN. Seriously, no one is holding you against your will to stay there. In fact, you shouldn't even be there to begin with. And why does she insist of wearing a mini-skirt to fight countless battles in. Are pants that difficult for her to put on?

I'm the same age as her (15) and I've never seen someone so immature. Maybe 8 or 9 year olds. Inuyasha, even with fillers, is pretty good, but she single handedly ruins the show for me. I stopped watching it when I was 11 after getting into it again just because of her. I avoid filler episodes all about Kagome like their the plague. Not to be disrespectful to her fans, but I am dumb founded on how anyone could like her. She's friendly, but that's about it as most of her 'nice' actions are due to a guilty conscious and selfishness. I just wish someone would throw her down the well and destroy it or that she would have just gotten killed off. Sorry if this sounds so mean-spirited, it is after all easy to get quite worked-up on the internet. I've never, ever, hated a character in ANY tv series in my life. That's how strongly I feel about Kagome!

Kagome is easily the worst anime character ever in my book.

You couldn't understand even if you wanted to. How would you feel if the guy you loved loved somebody else? Would you sit there and be happy about him going to someone else? Kagome is not helpless. She's actually the most powerful one in the group. The only thing is that she doesn't use her powers to its full potential. She rather be the heart of the group than be the one who kills others. She wears a skirt because Rumiko Takahashi wanted her to wear one. She said in the Inuyasha Profile Book that she wants her to wear a skirt and not slacks and she says that it's more easier to move around wearing a skirt. She's not immature, she's more mature to handle tough situations, that's just you. You just said so yourself, she's one of the main characters in the show, get over it. If you don't like her, then why watch the show.

The show has Kagome in every episode and if you can't deal with that then oh well. She's not selfish and if she was, what human being isn't? She proves to be more mature than any other 15 year old out there in the real world. I bet most of the stuff that she does in the feudal era is something that most 15 year old girls wouldn't do or would be too afraid to do.

Oh and by the way, she broke the jewel on accident, she didn't mean to do that. You have your opinion and I respect that, but your reasons as to why you hate Kagome are just plainly pathetic and they're not even excusable. I'm 16 years old and I can relate to Kagome at a certain level, especially when it comes to maturity. Most people my age or even younger are less mature than I am. I've talked to other people who were twice my age and they were also immature. It's possible for someone who's 15 years old to be mature, but like I said before, there are only a few who already stand in that level.

You like her. I don't. She has good and bad traits, but overall she's just not my cup of tea. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. Looking over my original post after some time has passed, I must admit that I could have posted my opinion more serenely.

While I'll admit Kagome has some annoying scenes. Overall she's a fairly strong character. Your reasoning as to why shes such a bad character kinda baffled me. Kikyo was a selfish person after death. As many have said she treated Inuyasha poorly after coming back even after finding out it wasn't his fault. And your Koga reasoning? Come on... There is a VAST difference there. Koga liked her, but she didn't like him. How is that even REMOTELY similar... It was a 1 way street. Meanwhile Inuyasha clearly had feeling for kikyo. And to think that Kagome is selfish, were you even paying attention to the series? I mean think about it... I understand you have your own opinion and i respect it. But it just seems to be formed around very poor reasoning but to each his/her own. Sorry if this came off as rude Hungry-Lions.

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO QUITE SPIRITUALITY?

reply

You're not. Although she has her flaws (duh, they all do), I have come to appreciate her character and the way she has gained courage throughout the series. She is clearly better for Inuyasha too. She's alive, she's a REAL person, and she IS Kikyo's reincarnation - it definitely speaks fate to me. Not to mention that Kikyo was not the same after coming back from the dead - she mostly kept the malice and hatred of her soul before the rest returned to Kagome. To be honest, now that I finally found the series in Netflix and cannot stop watching, I have found that I don't really dislike any of the characters (I'm not counting Naraku).

I love Kagome, honestly. She starts off a bit whiny, but hey, she's a teenage girl who suddenly has a huge responsibility on her shoulders. Once she's fighting, she really improves in my eyes, and I think if she was properly trained, she would kick butt.

However, I don't like Kagome with Inuyasha. He's always picking Kikyou, and I get it. She's his first love. But he picks her over the girl who really loves him every time. Plus, he's a jerk even when he's paying attention to her.

I'm sick of the "gruff guy/super sweet girl" thing.

I'd prefer to see Inuyasha paired with someone like Kagura. Tortured by life circumstances, it would balance him. She could share in his experience, and her darker nature could use Inuyasha's brash personality to bring her out of it.

As for Kagome, she pairs well with anyone. Kagome/Miroku would work nicely, though Sango/Miroku is preferred.

Kagome/Sesshomaru is a fantasy--It would take circumstances way outside the scope of the show though, so meh, never happen.

So, as bizarre as it might seem, given the impossibility of other options, I'd prefer Kagome wind up in her own time with Hojo.

How about Kagome/Adult Shippo?

kidding, but it is funny

It gives me the willies personally, but I did see a well done fan fic for it once.

I liked her more. Inuyasha needed to let his old love go.

A bit of the old ultraviolence...

Of course Kikyo would have been better for Inuyasha instead of Kagome. Kikyo and Inuyasha belong in the same time period. But Kagome does not.

Meanwhile I have read the replies to this topic and discovered there is a dislike for Kagome entirely?!

I do not find Kagome to be a useless character.

If she is annoying, it is because she is a middle school - high school student. I also like the arguing between Inuyasha and Kagome. She also displays much bravery and assertiveness. I do not believe she is ineffective in battle. Other characters are wounded as often as she has been wounded.

Kagome is necessary be cause she is able to locate the jewel shards and she is an archer. (even if her archery caused the jewel to shatter) She tamed Inuyasha who was unaware that Naraku was disguised as Kikyo. She is extremely aware of her surroundings (and narrates these observations to the audience). She is a relate able character for the target audience (teenagers?) in the present day. It seems that the adventures are seen through her eyes so a character from the present day (that resembles a younger version of Kikyo) would be necessary, even if it is the adventures of Inuyasha. (I can understand why it is supposed to be about Inuyasha. The setting is mostly from Inuyasha's time period, not Kagome's. I think. lol)

There are Kagome haters? Really? lol I'm surprised. I don't know how people can watch this whole series if they hate the main character (well, I know Inuyasha is the title character, but let's not kid ourselves; Kagome is the central protagonist). I loved Kagome.

I also don't think it's necessary to have to choose between Kagome and Kikyo. Kikyo was right for Inuyasha once, but she died. It's sad and shouldn't have happened that way, but it did. Besides, since Kagome is Kikyo's reincarnation, it comes to the same thing anyway. Kikyo was right for Inuyasha when she was alive, while Kagome is right for him now that Kikyo is gone.

It's possible that English-dub Kagome is less likable than Japanese Kagome. I only saw a little of the English dub for this show and I REALLY disliked the voice acting. A lot of people don't realize how important the voice acting can be, and voiceover actors can never really replace the original actors. So, I adore Japanese Kagome, but it's possible that English-dub Kagome isn't as likable.

I liked Kagome. I can see why people may not have, she was after all a teenage girl and speaking from experience we can be super dramatic. I was a tween/teen when this show was on, so that's why I felt close to her.

As an adult looking back, marrying Inuyasha and staying the the fuedel era was kind of stupid lol. Especially if she can't go back and forth whenever she likes (since that was never established)
