Good thought poor execution

personally I thought the movie was horribly boring. It took the man three minutes to light his wifes cigarrete! Come on! But it was still an interesting story. My biggest problem was that no one bothered to sound German. Whats with a German officer sounding Scottish or another who sounds as though he's from nothern England. PLEASE! Well I am going to get off my soap box now and go to sleep.

I wasn't bored. I was rather hooked, because of the subject.
But I guess I dissent from the common praise it gets, in thinking it was poorly done, and Noah Taylor (who I usually like) gave a very ham-fisted, slobberingly bad performance.
The accents didn't bother me. I'm used to the convention of making Europeans speak English in historical movies. I just dislike it when the have too many sorts of accents.
The accents were the least of this movie's problems.
