South Asian girls in relationships with white guys?

are there south asian girls on this board who have had a relationship with a white guy? did your parents or family accept your union, what kind of obstacles did you have to face?

i personally found this movie to be accurate in regards to the concept of interracial marriage in south asian families. mostly anyway. leniency in dating or marrying non-south asian guys varies from family to family, but i've found that in almost all south asian families i interact with (i'm pakistani too, so close enough =P) "south asian girl + white guy" is still very much taboo.

I am south asian- american in a relationship with a white Irish guy (straight from Ireland). I care a lot about him and our relationship is nothing short of amazing but am definitely hesitant about the practical/family aspect to it and he knows it and has known it since day one. His family loves me though. =/ Not sure how to tell my parents, no one in my family has married out although I know for sure one of my cousins secretly dated a white guy for a while before they ended things. My family is pretty conservative, and most of the time, I kinda love it! I love the extended family dynamic and cultural aspect. It's a lot of fun, we're very close, and we're there for each other. Maybe my extended family wouldn't react horribly to the relationship (honestly not sure!), but I do know things would be different if I married out though. I think my cousins feel the same, no one wants to be the one to do it and change what we've had our whole lives. Sigh, if there was only a way to have both.

I don’t see this scenario being all that common honestly.
