The Story of LiveWire: The WWF's Memorable Call-In Show

https://youtu.be/UC_KPbmg_p8

Heading into the fall of 1996, one year after the Monday Night Wars had begun, WCW began to overtake the WWF with the nWo angle as Nitro would soon dominate in the ratings over Raw. On top of the gaps in Nielsen ratings, the on-screen product itself was becoming a bit-dated and indifferent to the more realistic wrestling shows that were available.

This is the story of how one new weekend program known as LiveWire would become an experiment for adding realistic and mature content that was quite out of the norm for the Federation. And with this new format would help create some memorable interactions, and just as importantly, help set the stage for an eventual change in the company's "Attitude".

WWE is so pathetic. They went from childish to complete raunchy and over the top because they simply can't and are never able to create a mature story like the nWo angle. Like it's either goo-goo-ga-ga bad, or fart, tit, shit and dicks jokes. Nothing in between. Total shitshow one way or the other.
