Brock cheated on Reba with....HER?

Barbara Jean was OK face-wise I guess, but she was pudgy from the start!
Not to mention she blew up to be a soccer ball!

Her personality was ridiculous to boot.

Just sayin'.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

reply

She also didn't argue with Brock and everybody else around her the way Reba did. Reba was almost always biting and sarcastic, Barbara Jean rarely was. Maybe Brock was looking for the opposite of Reba.

Brock might have been shallow at times, but maybe he's not so shallow as to judge the woman by her body size alone.

reply

Hence why I mentioned that about Barbra Jean's personality too.
Its not like she was just a chunky sweet smart lady. She was a grating nitwit!

I agree that Brock liked more subservient women, but still.

Barbara Jean did let people walk all over her like her horrible sister kept doing until Kera urged her to stand up to her.

I think it was more personality than anything and that she was what Reba was not.

reply

Maybe because Reba's so fûcking annoying.

reply

No. I think that, "honor," belongs to Barbara Jean. Quite frankly, I don't blame Reba for being angry for so long. I wouldn't exactly be friendly and cordial toward my cheating ex-husband and the woman he had the affair with.

reply

idk. I've just never liked Reba. She always has to be right. & she's boring.

reply

Boring? Reba? Hardly. Not with that fiery personality and quick wit.

reply

Some people would trade in Reba for Barbra Jean in a heartbeat.

When Barbara Jean "blew up" she was actually pregnant. And she fed Brock's ego. Reba probably got fed up with him and BJ gave him what he needed.

reply

I know. I thought the same thing. How on earth could he leave Reba for her.

Then again, I've noticed that lots of time, in movies and shows, when a husband cheats on his wife, its always with someone uglier and I can never understand it.

Biggest example I can think of at the moment is Michael Douglas cheating on Anne Archer with Glenn Close. WTF is that?

R.I.P. Rick Ducommun and Tony Longo

reply

She was available and she was easy. She could have been anybody.

If she wasn't pregnant and Brock didn't have to see her every day at work, he probably would've just moved on from her.

reply

Everyone connected with the series ought to reunite for a one-off special, finally reuniting Brock and Reba.

The final shot could have Barbara Jean's daughter announcing she's pregnant - by VAN!

YES - a 6-year long series with Barbara Jean's daughter waltzing into Cheyenne's house though her kitchen! "we're best friends, right, Cheyenne?"

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.

When the show first started, they had made it clear he didn't cheat with Barbra Jean. That him and Reba weren't together anymore and he just moved on with Barbra. But as the show went along, they always made it sound like he was sleeping with Barbra Jean while they were still together and she was the cause of their divorce.
