Come on, let's be honest here, what do you think of this film?

reply

Okay, let's be honest. I am brave enough to say that I thought it was very entertaining. Probably this was all due to the performance of the two main characters, but I thought it was amusing and quite funny.

A film like this, you should just watch and enjoy without thinking about it too much. They can't all be masterpieces!

reply

I thought it was pretty funny actually because Of Robert Deniro's rep as more serious, its halarious to see him in comedic roles.

reply

this movie was a major flop, but i saw it and it was actually quite good.

reply

I'm with you, the movie is great, and on my opinion Eddie Murphy is one of a kind.

reply

This movie was alright but unrealistic. The part with the gun show was nothing like a real gun show.

reply

Good fun comedy to have in your collection.

reply

Hey I thought this movie was pretty cool, Robert De Niro's no nonsense cop (kinda like like in 15 minutes) was well matched against Eddie Murphys predictable tomfoolery. I was a good romp and the outtakes at the end were a nice touch too - I recommend it to anyone.

reply

Definitely one of the more funny box office bombs. By far the funniest line in the movie is where Shatner is trying to teach them how to act and he says "Mitch"(De Niro) is the worst actor he has ever seen! I thought I would fall out! Overall this film deserves much more credit than it was given.

Murphy plays Murphy just 20 years older.

The real reason to see it is to see Shatner. He's porky but really makes fun of himself and his T.J. Hooker character. However, to me, that's not enough reason to sit through this clunker.

i can see why it was a bomb it sucked. murphy isnt funny anymore deniro was boring , only renne russo was good. what happened deniro???

reply

More like u suck!!!!!

reply

no......not without incident.

reply

are you kidding me? did you guys just have your corpus collosum split or something? this is a piece of trash. we all know de niro and murphy took this role for a paycheck, this is one of the worst excuses for a movie i have ever seen. this classic buddy cop genre has been tired to death, and the plot about big guns that destroy houses come on! Now eddie murphy always plays the same role over and over again, just with different names and robert de niro has been turning out crap the last few years (flawless, the score, 15 minutes, rocky and bullwinkly, meet the parents) so i wasnt expecting it to be good, i worked at blockbuster and got it for free, and i gotta say it was one of the most difficult movies to sit through, it sucked every inch of life out of me before adding insult to injury with the bloopers at the end, i felt bad for de niro cause he used to be a good actor, someone tell him to knock it off and if murphy needs some money tell him to do 48 hours 3, he could use a nostalgic kick

Well in that case i guess you can call me a hater of this movie.

I thought it was a fun film. Loved it when william Shatner threw himself over the car bonnet (hood 4 ameriacans)

You're not being fair to the movie at all. Seems to me you didn't want to like it to begin with. I liked the plot, the guns, there was next to no attempt at pointlessly grandiose schemes and most of it made sense (Including guns that can tear apart a house! Know what stops a .50cal bullet? Nothing short of several feet of solid concrete/steel. So why would wooden house supports put up much of a fight?). The only thing I didn't like was that, despite masterfully poking fun at buddy cop cliches, the movie ends up resorting to them itself. Other than that, it was surprisingly well-written.

"Hey man, I'm just doing my job!"
"'Job'?"
*BAM*
"Get a real job."

"What if it's cyanide?"

Come on, you can't tell me this movie didn't have SOME brains behind it.

Yeah, it's weird. I don't think it was 'oh wow' good, but I'm surprised how much negative response it got. I saw it awhile ago, and maybe I was lacking taste then... but I actually liked this movie. I completely disagree with anyone who says it's COMPLETE garbage, but I can understand if someone didn't really like it.

Certainly wasn't perfect but I enjoyed the movie alot.

This film is like COPS meet The Hard Way.

I am shocked about some of the comments regarding this film. I was thoroughly entertained by it, thanks mainly to the performances of the two leads. De Niro has rarely been funnier playing it straight and Murphy once again demonstrates what a comic genius can do with second rate material.

Ever seen Meet the Parents/Fockers?

Anyways, I thought it was ok. I laughed at times, but this isn't a movie I would ever waste money on buying. I've never been a big fan of Murphy, ever since he started doing Disney/kiddy movies. His best performance was in the Beverly Hills Cop movies, and that other movie with Nick Nolte.

I thought DeNiros role was pretty good. Overall, I'd give this movie a 6.5/10.

I did see MEET THE PARENTS and MEET THE FOCKERS and DeNiro was very funny in both of these films. He was also very funny in SHOWTIME.
