After re-watching this recently, it was pretty funny seeing Melissa McCarthy play a small role as a paramedic who tends to Astrid (Lohman) after she gets shot by Starr.

It's like seeing Chris Elliott in "The Abyss".

yeah I noticed that too. she was also in a small role in a film called pumpkin starring Christina Ricci that came out the same year.

This is funny because I noticed her name in the cast list before I watched and I assumed I'd have to squint and try to pick her out, but then **boom** her very familiar face was filling up the whole screen. Hellll-oh, Melissa! LOL

She was not such a huge name yet back then.
