5.5? Are you kidding me? I've seen half of Adam Sandler's Films, and this is my favorite so far.

The rating scheme under which the OP claimed this movie was under-rated refers to the full complement of movies this web service rates and the raters who participate in the rating scheme. Thus, it is not devoted exclusively to Adam Sandler movies. One may claim that Adam Sandler movies rate undeservedly low in such a compendium of movies and supporting this contention by supplying us why it should be seen as good as some of the Oscar awarded movies, for example, but the key is to remember that it comprises the tastes of those who rate the movies and the basis on which they rate them. As to whether this is one of best or even the best of Sandler's movies as you've avowed, I wouldn't pretend to respond as I haven't seen them all. I admit, though, that I didn't think this movie was particularly entertaining, despite that I appreciate that Sandler put on a good show. Finally, I'm not sure where you get the conclusion that there are so many haters. Surely not on this thread. Perhaps you are thinking that the 5.5 out of 10 suggests hatred, as in giving a grade of C represents hatred, not the supposed "fair" or "middlin'" it's supposed to suggest. Then, again, perhaps you are referring to other posters on this board, many of whom might have expressed their hatred toward it. If so, I suggest taking this with a grain of salt, seeing as how many of the posters on the imdb boards express their feelings in the most extreme way -- either an F or A+ not having much room for subtlety in them. I attribute this to their youth.

It's not under-rated; it's crap: stupid, unfunny, unimaginative garbage. The only other Sandler film close to this terrible probably is "Anger Management."

It had an OK start for a sandler movie, and strong acting from wynona ryder (who i'm not a fan of), and turned it all into offensively bad crap halfway through.
You can tell they saved the really ridiculous gags for the second part of the movie. But I don't know if they did it because they thought they were good, or to keep people from walking out too early.

I definitely agree . . . I don't know why it took me so long to see it, but I absolutely loved it--a very solid 10/10 from me. I don't usually like to say that something is an "all-time favorite" for me having only watched it once, but I tempted to say that with this one. I like Sandler in general (and I've seen the majority of his films), but this is one of my favorite films of his so far, too. He seems to be particularly good with romantic comedies. I loved 50 First Dates, too.
