British Army

Shows what happens if you try to *beep* around with british soldiers don't it? You're gonna get your butt kicked!

Especially if you're unarmed and on a peaceful march with your kids, yeah.

Shows what happens when some moron stupidly decides to send paratroopers to play "riot police" for a day.

reply

true; trigger-happy paratroopers who were trained to kill shouldn't have been sent in as riot police... I can't believe no criminal charges were laid; it's effectively murder.

Or even British soldiers. And perhaps a comma lost in your hasty rhetoric - British soldiers, don't it? (Maybe English isn't your first language; possibly punctuation had to be substituted to the need to get your thoughts written down before they left your head completely ?)

Yes, a peaceful demonstration gets fired upon by a regiment that should never have been deployed, a regiment trained to engage a military enemy which is armed and with a similar intent of finding and killing its enemy in combat. To quote a top British Army advisor at the time - "This was the best recruitment day the IRA ever had." And consequently to the re-entrenchment of (admittedly already ingrained) ideology on both sides of the Nationalist/Unionist sectarian divide, subsequently resulting in the re-arming of both sets of paramilitary terrorist groups. All of which resulted in 30 years of atrocities in Northern Ireland, the Irish Republic and mainland United Kingdom, retarding economic growth and investment in the infrastructure of Northern Ireland, affecting both Catholic and Protestant. And, oh yes, over 3000 deaths. No one won; everybody lost. Can this be what you mean, Sir, by Shows what happens if you try to *beep* around with british soldiers don't it? Surely not! Could anyone be this insensitive or idiotic ?

"Do you want to go to the toilet, Albert?"

Particularly stupid post - i suppose the people who planted bombs in Omagh and Enniskillen were freedom fighters. The point is of course that Bloody Sunday as sad as it was, was a rare event - if the army had been the savages claimed then there would have been many more dead people in Ulster. What by the way is quartered. Incidentally the Protestants of NI might disagree with your analysis. In any event your views are now old hat as effectively the IRA has been bought off (sold out/seen sense)and its only the lunatic fringe in CIRA and the INLA and its armchair supporters like you who can summon up the resources to blow up Catholic officers in the PSNI or murder soldiers getting pizza - big men!

You seem to forget the knock on affect this had on terrorism in the North. They certainly did reap the whirlwind. If I lived in Derry at the time as a young man I feel pretty certain that I would have made it my lot in life to kill as many British soldiers as possible.

It's amazing, when suicide bombers kill the innocent in Iraq it's blamed on the American presence. When it happened in the North the blame was lain at the IRA's door.

It was a great recruiting tool for you terrorists..probably why Marty was there with his machine gun that day.

reply

Yes you're probably right yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn!!!

Have you ever noticed that when a supporter of IRA terrorism is wrong they feign disinterest or fatigue. I wonder if supporters of al qaeda do the same.

reply

I wouldn't know. I happen to think the British Army are doing a fine job in Afghanistan. That's the problem with people like you. You don't have the intelligence to separate values. I despise the actions of the British Para's on Bloody Sunday. I make a comment suggesting how I can understand the anguish and dis-illusionment of the young men at the time but at no point did I say terrorism was right or did I in anyway condone the IRA campaign against the innocent.

It's sadly attitudes like yours that perpetuate terrorism, not condemn it!

You mean the Deputy Minister?

"Hey, look at that! She's not crazy, she's being chased by a cheetah!"

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

reply

Anyone who disagrees with you is a plastic Paddy ffs.
Hey are you really a holocaust denier btw?
