I waited for a twist that never came

Insomnia movie, makes me think of the machinist. I was totally expecting a huge twist near the end where all his meetings / calls with Williams were going to end up being illusions along with a bunch of other crazy plot twists.

Still an OK movie - but could've been much better IMO.

Why does every movie have to have a freakin twist for people to enjoy it? Movies are about more than the ending surprising you. It's not a guessing game. It's a story. If you can't enjoy a story for what it's worth you'd be better off reading the synopsis and giving up.

Couldn't have stated it better. Totally agree Mantiso.

Same here. I also expected a twist. I felt really cheated at the end.

And yes, this needed a twist in some sort - it was labeled as a crime/mystery film.

The twist at the end was that there wasn't any. The mystery is why you thought there had to be a twist to qualify as a crime movie.

I'm glad there wasn't a twist. The movie didn't need one. It's a crime thriller, not a Shyamalan movie.

Can't stop the signal.

The twist was that Pacino planted the evidence for the 8 year old trial. Maybe more of a reveal.

I'm very glad that such a twist never occurred. The whole "it was all in his head!" thing has been done to death for years now.

I was waiting for a twist too b/c i noticed the genre Psychological Thriller attached to it. And most movies with this genre have that twist where you go, "Oh *beep*
but yeah, i get why they call it a psychological thriller. It's more of a crime drama imo.

Yup, I needed a twist too. It reminded me of the major disappointments that were Metropolis, Lawrence of Arabia or The Night of the Hunter : no twists, what the hell ? Couldn't all movies be like Sixth Sense ? It's not too much to ask.

...what? That would have been terrible.

Please don't ever get involved with writing or making movies.
