Importance fans, any other good movies?

I really liked this movie, it wasn't advertised enough and I just happened to see it on a Target t.v. thingy and rented it. Of course I bought it and borrowed it out to everyone insisting that they watch it. This movie is really great. With that said I was wondering, does anyone have a movie that they like that is somewhat similair in charactor to this one that they would recommend?

This one isn't a comedy, so it may not appeal, but I recommend the David Mamet film of "The Winslow Boy". The period is so well captured, and the direction and performances are superb.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

You might like Midsummer Night's Dream from1995. Rupert Everett, Kevin Kline, Stanley Tucci, Michelle Pfeiffer.
Its very funny and witty.

Try the Ealing comedies, especially"

Kind Hearts and Coronets
The Ladykillers, (original).
The Lavender Hill Mob

I highly recommend the original film of "The Importance of Being Earnest", which is pure champagne compared to the flat beer of this recent version.

If you're in a very black-comedy mood, then Peter O' Toole and Arthur Lowe in the very black, very funny "The Ruling Class" are absolutely terrific.

"Stage Beauty" is set in an earlier era, but is very good, with Rupert Everett very good as Charles II.

You might also like Judi Dench in "Mrs. Henderson Presents".

But you ARE Blanche ... and I AM.

Unquestionably you should seek out the 1951 Importance of Being Earnest directed by Anthony Asquith and starring Michael Redgrave, Joan Greenwood and Edith Evans, who is the ultimate Lady Bracknell. It also features a delightful performance by Margaret Rutherford. It's far superior to this mess.
