My favorite quote

This movie is awesome and there is this one quote that always cracks me up:

Suzie: Do the carolers have to pay you?
Will: Well yeah they should but you can't always catch the bloody bastards!

haha that just gets me every time :)

i love hugh grant!!!!!!!!

reply

Will: I find the key is to think of a day as units of time, each unit consisting of no more than thirty minutes. Full hours can be a little bit intimidating and most activities take about half an hour. Taking a bath: one unit, watching countdown: one unit, web-based research: two units, exercising: three units, having my hair carefully disheveled: four units. It's amazing how the day fills up, and I often wonder, to be absolutely honest, if I'd ever have time for a job; how do people cram them in?

This one is good: Marcus (to Will) "You don't give a *&*&*@ about anyone, and no one gives a %^%^* about you!"

Also, the rap song was so funny!
Ellie: (to Marcus) "Stop telling strangers to shake their a** then."

reply

"It's stunning the resemblence between you and Marcus"

"Uh...really?"

"There's no I in team, but there's an I in Pie, Meat pie".

My fave quotes are:-

Christine: You will end up childless and alone.
Will: Well, fingers crossed, yeah.

Will: I'd be the worst possible Godfather. I'd probably drop her on her head at her christening. I'd forget all her birthdays until she was 18. Then I'd take her out and get her drunk. And, let's face it, quite possibly try and shag her.

Will: It was terrible! Terrible! But driving really fast behind the ambulance was fantastic!

I love when the teacher says backstage: "Come on Marcus you wolly."

I also love, "... by the end of the meeting I wanted to cut my own pen!s off."

reply

"I knew the song would be over finally and I would soon be home and safely tucked up in bed. I knew this..............and yet I could not feel it."

I enjoyed all the quotes y'll ppl mentioned above too. This one was another that came to mind that I liked. Also,

"No man's an island.

She's right you know.

What?? I am an island. I am *beep* Ibiza!!!

What the hell are you talking about?"

reply

Well my favorite quote isn't a funny one, but just loved the part where Hugh Grant is narrating his thoughts and he says something like "when you open a door to someone, anybody can come through it"
talking about how he opened his heart to marcus, and then thinking about Rachel

"....and the wind cries Mary."

Ok. It went something like this: "Did you know that dolphins can kill a shark with their NOSE?!" That one kills me every time =D

reply

Ducks ffs ... not dolphins.

I can't believe no one mentioned this quote:

Will: "[Ned] put his little hands around my neck and said, 'Hang in there, Dad!'"

SPAT lady: "Wow, that is amazing for a two-year-old!"

Will: "...Really?"

Two great lines:

1) When Rachel Weisz says to Hugh Grant. "Marcus really takes after you. You both dress alike." and Will is stunned and horrified because Marcus might the worst dresser in the U.K. at that moment.

2) Hugh Grant: "Oh, God, they're singing with their eyes closed." then when he says at the end, "...and before I knew, there I was, singing with my eyes closed."

That's some good writing.

reply

My favorite:

"I could see those beautiful creatures now, getting roaring drunk..."

A minute later at SPAT.

"Well, men are bastards. After about an hour, I wanted to cut my own penis with a kitchen knife"

reply

Easily this one:

Fiona: I mean, he's a special - very, very special boy and he's got a special soul, and I've wounded it.
Will: Oh, please, just shut up. You're wounding my soul.

Absolurely hilarious.

reply

My favourite is one that no-one ever laughs at

right at the start when the woman (cant remember her name) gives Hugh Grant the baby to hold and he's just sort of balancing it in his hands he just goes.
'oh you'd better take her off me, im being a bit crap with her'

its so funny!
anyway...

reply

'No see you've always had that wrong, I really am this shallow!'
Haha the frankness of that line is absolutely hilarous!

And when Will is over at his friend's house and the dad comes running in with Ronnie and as he comes in he screams 'Ronnie Ronnie Ronnie! Here's Ronnie!'
And it goes to Will's thought and he says
Oh dear God, it's the Antichrist...
And right after that he says with this big smile on his face 'Hello Ronnie-how are youuuuu?'
And the kid blows this big fat raspberry and his dad says
'Oh, he's lovely' in this innocent tone of voice.
Not a lot of people laugh at that but I think it's hilarous!

Careful with that doorknob-it's a smoked gouda! Kay? Bye Jerri...

reply

Will: As for his mum, she appeared to be clinically insane, and wearing some kind of yeti costume!

that one is pretty great too :D

Theres this one quote that I have kinda forgotten.

It happens when he first meets that girl that he's interested at that party and he says stuff about how he had to make himself seem interesting. Something like that.

If anyone can remember it email it to me [email protected]

I LOVE the inner dialogue that Will and Marcus have when at the restaurant with Marcus's mom.

Marcus : At least she looked good. *goes on about his mom's clothes*
Will: As for his mom, she was clearly insane...and appeared to be wearing some kind of Yeti costume.

Makes me lol every time :D
