Zippy and the timelords

I've been perfecting my 'zippy' (as you do) over the years, and for the first time ever the other it occurred to me just how much Zippy's voice and that of the Dalek's in Doctor Who sound so similar. I had a go at trying to do a Dalek impression, and later found out from a friend that they were indeed both voiced by Roy Skelton :)

Yes, Roy Skelton's wonderful Dalek voice used to scare the living crap out of me as a child!

Inside every Dalek there is a Zippy.

Well, it's fun to imagine, anyway. Zippy would undoubtedly approve of attempting to rule the universe.

Funnily enough, Zippy had previously been voiced by "Peter Hawkins" who was also a Dalek voice artist (also Cybermen).

Yes, just imagine Zippy speaking more slowly and more pedantically, and also maybe a bit more deeply, and you have a dalek voice. Come to think of it, did Roy Skelton do the voices for the Smash martians?

What a missed opportunity, Zippy shouting Exterminate over and over would have been hilarious!
