Watch this guy rip into this movie

Made by Doug Walker "the nostalgia critic" the whole thing is really funny and he makes good points about how this is truly one of the worst movies ever made.

Maybe like, three years ago he might've made something out of this, but the end result is less funny than ECN itself. Obvious criticisms that anyone could notice and like, five minutes combined of complaining about Whitey's voice? Just makes me cringe at how dull it is.

Doug Walker's audience consists of autistic freaks.

Yeah, you seem like a rational person who is a delight to be around.

I usually like the Nostalgia Critic, but this review is honestly hot garbage.

The whole gist of his complaints is "ME NO LIKEY LOW BROW HUMOR, ME NO LIKEY ADAM SANDLER, ME BETTER THAN YOU FOR NOT LIKING LOW BROW HUMOR" while taking douchey potshots at the Happy Madison fanbase (which is HARDLY any different than his own fanbase. Doug Walker ain't exactly doing Bill Hicks either.) And he ignores the entire points of scenes/scenes in GENERAL just to do the same repetitive b*tching and moaning that makes this review a slog and a half to sit through.

The backstory he's whining about makes total sense; Christmas is a time where everyone's like "Happiness and good will and family!", but for Davey it's just a dark reminder that he DOESN'T have all of that since his parents were killed at AGE TWELVE. He's got a more than reasonable, realistic reason to hate Christmas than, say, The Grinch, who just simply says "*beep* Christmas."

And of course he leaves out the Hanukkah card, the single most important element of the damn movie. When his trailer gets burned down, he risks his life solely to retrieve that. And the mall logos can only get through to Davey by bringing out the big gun of opening the Hanukkah card, revealing to and reminding Davey of the loving parents he had, and that they wouldn't want to see their son like this. See him bitter and angry and resentful. "Don't Ever Change The Way You Are" and he can still be the good man Whitey always knew he could be.

I don't like most of Adam Sandler's movies either, but 8 Crazy Nights was legitimately one of the better undertakings he's done. Does it have low brow potty humor and silly non-sequitors? Sure. But we don't get mad at South Park when they do it and throw away the effective moments they have. This movie's honestly fresher and ballsier than a lot of other Christmas themed movies where it's all about being all happy and peppy and "Yay Xmas!" while this really took a chance with such a dark approach. And for what it's worth I think it works pretty well considering how low we know he CAN go.

Nostalgia Critic and the Angry Video Game Nerd are both played out, self important asses. They have reached the point where their fan bases don't even think for themselves. They simply say, "Well, Nostalgic Critic said this....", or "Angry Video Game Nerd said this...", and post a link, rather than using critical thinking and producing their own opinions. Screw them both.

Does anyone even watch Walker's stuff anymore? He was funny back in the late 2000's, but the series just got played out and it really started to fall when he started trying way too hard and focuses on the cringy skits. Even most of his fanbase has turned on him because of how bad the quality has gotten and all the workplace abuse allegations.
