John Lydon

I'm sure I spotted John Lydon in the Question Time audience a couple of weeks ago. He didn't say anything though, he just sat there eating what looked like a hot-cross bun.

Former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon is to appear on BBC One current affairs programme Question Time later.

The punk singer will sit on the panel alongside former Home Secretary Alan Johnson Energy and Climate Change Secretary Ed Daveyon.

Tory MP Louise Mensch and journalist Dominic Lawson will also appear on the show, which is being filmed in Derby.

Lydon joins the likes of fellow musicians Jarvis Cocker and Will Young who have previously joined the debate.

The Sex Pistols famously sparked media outrage in 1976 after swearing on live TV, while ITV received a number of complaints over Lydon's language on reality show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here in 2004.

A critic of much of British society, the outspoken star told The Guardian in May that "no one in British politics impresses me".

Question Time will be broadcast on BBC One at 22:35 BST.

He was a total embarrassment. The Beeb should drop this nutty policy of inviting music stars on to inflict their banal and ill considered opinions on an unsuspecting world. Lydon's appearance tonight was cringe inducing.

It was posted on youtube the next day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xj5R5o-yhcc
You have two people with drug experience, with opposite views on legalization. Plus clueless politicians.

Lydon is more intelligent than 90% of the people you see on TV.
US and Canadian TV is crap in comparison. The only comparable show is an interview show on TV Ontario.
