Why did Hu Li blow herself up in the end. I know she meant to kill Lee and Carter, but she didn't have any real hate for them.

Hu Li accidentally killed herself on a long, axe-headed spear. Her blood-lust for Lee and Carter? Just for the thrill of it.

No she blew herself up actually. I get the thrill part though.

Yes but she would have bled to death anyway so she though she may take those two out too.

I think Hu Li really didn't have to blow herself up. She should have just leave the scene and come back for a revenge for RH3. After all, the boss is dead and she can be in charge.

But, I think she really hated Carter because he almost killed her.

My thinking was that she may as well take down the people she hates if she is gonna go down with them - she probably didn't have that much to live for after everthing that happened.

She probably knew it was all over. The Customs Agent revealed herself to be honest, which means there is a ton of evidence against them. Ricky Tan just died. And she herself got a serious wound with the sword, so she might have been half-way dead herself.

Plus, the movie indicated that she was a psychopath. That alone can explain it.
