Sean Vetter's house: I don't understand

California has some of the most expensive real estate in the world. Buying any property near a beach is going to cost you a ton of money.

How on Earth is Sean and his wife able to own a home on the beach? Are they renting it? Even that would cost a ton of money.

dea agents=$$$$ they work for the govt

reply

They don't make that much money!

reply

I dont know but that is a cool house

ever think the wife had a good job?

Don't worry, I saw Lord of the Rings. I'm not going to end this 17 times.

this is America, going into huge debt is no big deal for most people because our society has made it look ok.

reply

great point, he must have stashed it from his criminal days.

The movie has some entertainment value but Vetter's house on the beach made me scratch my head. He's a DEA agent and that house must cost some serious $$$. I can only guess that he got it as a foreclosure or it had been one of those fixer uppers that happened to have ocean front property. No matter it was a nice place. I would like to have had some dialogue addressing his ability to afford such a nice place. Anyway the movie had good pacing and I found Diesel's performance credible. What I didn't like was the ending scene. He finally learns who the real 'Diablo' is and goes to the Mexcian village where the drug lord is living in seclusion. The best the writers could do was to have Vetter ID 'Diablo' as the drug lord sat, at a table, with two young ladies. A very dull ending to an action packed movie.

He was in a gang before becoming an agent so maybe he ''earned'' some money..

I thought the low key ending was good considering every thing that had happened beforehand. It just made a good contrast IMO.

It’s a movie, a work of fiction. They didn’t expect anyone to look too deep into it.
