shareYou have a chain of command for a reason, Garrison was a few steps up on the flag pole from the guys on the ground so they streamline communication through different channels that flow up.
In this situation, there was a communication helicopter that flew over the battle and relayed all the info from the ground leaders (and pilots) to the command center. Even if the General was the greatest battle tactician ever who had every soldier, pilot, ranger, etc. on speed dial it would be utter chaos and impossible to communicate with so many working parts.
The OP thinks this movie has no plot? Then he wouldn’t recognize a plot if it kicked him in the balls.
