That's the point. Gwen is the beautiful movie star and Kiki is her dowdy sister/assistant. If she looked gorgeous then the movie wouldn't have been beleivable.

What's funny is that in Chicago, Renee Zellweger amkes Catherine Zeta-Jones look fat.

Just because someone weighs more or has a different body type than someone else doesn't make them FAT.

And let's be serious . . . Julia Roberts is not ugly. They just didn't make her look as glamorous as CZJ, which was the point.
If Julia Roberts was UGLY, I highly doubt that she would have such a long list of movies she has starred in. Or have, ironically enough, been called "America's Sweetheart" for so long.

Now, she may not be your favorite actor and/or you may not love her large lips or when she wears her hair short, etc. - - but she is not U-G-L-Y.

And if we're going by how these 2 are personally, I'll take JR any day, and she's not even my favorite actress. But you can keep CZJ. She may be beautiful as well, but it's only on the outside.

I absolutely adore Julia Roberts. She's one of my favourite actresses!

And absolutely hate Catherine Zeta Jones!!

Yea, neither one (Zeta-Jones or Zellweger) are fat in any way.

But yea, Julia Roberts is not attractive. She's not Ugly however. She has giant horse teeth and they are in the oddest shape. Just because you get to be in a lot of movies doesn't make you attractive. Billy Crystal is in plenty of movies and he's horrid. And any white woman can be classified as "America's Sweetheart". You just have to be white to do so. Now Jennifer Aniston's "America's Sweetheart". Why, because Brad Pitt left her ass. She hasn't done anyhting half as good as any of Julia Robert's movies. I'd take Julia Roberts over Jennifer Aniston as "America's Sweetheart" any day.

And is Zeta-Jones a bad person? How come she's only beautiful on the outside?

Julia Robert is absolutely a gifted movie star.
For any actress, no matter who she is, there is always someone who believes she is beautiful and vice versa. No personal idea is needed to judge the beauty of one actress.
Can you name one ugly actress that no one would disagree.

Are you kidding ? Watch the premiere scenes and see who's the star . Julia Roberts is a iconic movie star and she's beautiful !!! Zeta is beautiful too but I can not compare with Jul.

Yes, that was definitely the point of the movie. I actually kind of liked the message it sent out. Eddie chooses the less attractive (although it is impossible to make Julia Roberts entirely unattractive) but more personable sister, over the rich, famous, beuatiful, bitchy one!

What a totally stupid thing to say! Julia Roberts wouldnt look ugly standing next to anyone... not even someone as beautiful as Catherine Zeta-Jones she is a beautiful and confident woman... dont try and take that away from her!

Ok, so first you comment on people saying Catherine being more beautiful then Julia, not being true that is, and then you go and say Catherine is ugly inside, people are intitled to their own opinion, but saying that someone is ugly on the inside is waaaay worse then saying someone is ugly on the outside....

Julia is not hideous, but her looks are unconventional (large, shapeless lips and big teeth). Put her beside a classical beauty like Catherine and Julia looks odd in the face, even though ten seconds ago, someone might consider her attractive.

The reality is 180 degrees from what the OP states. Julia Roberts was far more appealing than Zeta-Jones, and that includes her appearance, even in the fat scenes.
