If you loved this film, this thread is not for you.

I just felt there needed to be a spot for those of us who hated this film. With hundreds of votes of 5 or less, there's a lot of us, including half of the hundred or so "top 1000" voters who've voted on this film at the time I write this.

I'm Canadian, and I'm familiar with curling, but this was a godawful film for me. I'm astonished that after this one Paul Gross was even allowed to write a cheque, much less another film. (Fortunately he makes up for it with Passchendaele.)

* most vomit-inducing gratuitous sex scene ever recorded on film
* worst use of 1990s CGI -- in a 2002 film
* worst portrayal of a sport in a movie, except boxing in Undefeated (2003)
* overall insipid characters and script

If any movie should be destroyed to protect the otherwise respectable careers of the people who participated in it, this one might be it.

OK, it's been awhile since I saw it, but I thought this movie was about curling.. which sport are you referring to?

Aw, cmon. How could anybody hate this movie? It's so sweet! And it's all about sin and redemption, love and community...just like "Passchendaele". Maybe you should give it another try, Mr. Crankypants!

Well you answered your own question about how anybody could hate this movie by mentioning Passchendaele. That movie sucks and so does this one. That one sucked because the dramatic acting was atrocious and so was the script. This one sucked because it was not funny not funny not funny; oh and stupid. One of the main factors in both hmmmm. Oh yeah crappy actor Paul Gross. I don't think he has ever connected with a single piece of dialogue.

Unless Paul Gross personally skinned your new puppy and then stewed up the meat, I really don't understand why you have so much hostility for him. And given that you have so much hostility for him, why do you keep going to see his movies? If you hated "Men with Brooms" so much, why did you go see "Passchendaele" and "Gunless"? What kind of a loser has nothing better to do than go see movies made by an actor he doesn't care for? Maybe you could poll all of your miserable troll friends and let the rest of us know exactly what motivates you. On second thought, don't bother. You're not that interesting.

Wow. No pertinent arguments; just insults and sad attempts at humour. If you can't understand why thrusting Paul Gross into the spotlight and funding his work is a problem in Canada, then you need to do more research and reflection. I watched these films to keep up to date on what is being promoted/supported in the Canadian industry.

You still have made no point. You are a huge Paul Gross fan; that's all you are saying and that is fine, but it is not an argument or a point.

Yup, it's a truly crappy film. Now the morons at CBC have wasted $10 million filming the series. Sometimes it's embarrassing to be Canadian.

If this dude hated the movie so much, how did he/she give it a 4/10?

Typical Canadian being way too polite. If you hate something and think it should be destroyed give it a freaking 1.

Canadians give 4/10 as their lowest score. Just ask Bret Hart about his opinion on Triple H wrestling matches.
