Is this anything realistic?

Would a patient like Elizabeth (whatever disorder she had) behave the way she did?

Also would the hospital where she was look that bad. Such a dark, stained room?

I have no idea of either one I don't know anyone with mental disorders nor have I ever been to a psychiatric hospital. But it all looks like Hollywood cliches to me... maybe I'm wrong.
