1, 2, 3, 4. In that order.
Yup. The series just gets progressively worse. This reminds me of those line graphs we learned in grade school.
1. Scary Movie 3 (got the most laughs outta me hands down)
2. Scary Movie 4 (loved the whole War of the Worlds parody, Tom Cruise had it coming)
3. Scary Movie 2 (weak, but the whole haunted house angle was hilarious)
4. Scary Movie (never cared for the original...go figure)

4. Scary Movie 3 - I liked it but it's easily the weakest of the franchise and I don't quite care for Simon Rex.
3. Scary Movie 4 - I prefer 4 to 3 because the humor is more vintage "Naked Gun" and Craig Bierko is a much better male lead than Simon Rex.
2. Scary Movie 2 - It took the franchise in an interesting new direction instead of using the same building block of the first installment. I was afraid that the sequels were doomed to forever parody the teenybopper-slasher sub-genre and instead it progressively became a franchise comparable to "The Naked Gun" or "Hot Shots." It would have been my favorite but the toilet humor didn't work as well in the second.
1. Scary Movie - Words cannot express how much I love this movie! It immediately reminded me of "The Naked Gun" only dirtier. Sure, some of the jokes fall flat, but it's a great parody and anyone who remembers being a young teenager will die laughing at the toilet humor. Scary Movie has become the subject of much notoriety since it was released because two of the six writers, Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, have recently written and directed a string of critically-panned parody movies. To make matters worse, their titles also end with "Movie" (with the exception of "Meet the Spartans" and "Vampires Suck"). "Stan Helsing", another lame imitation of "Scary Movie", was also released directed by Bo Zenga ("Scary Movie"'s executive producer). It tears me apart to see such mediocre filmmakers forge a bad name for an otherwise superb comedy.
