WHICH MOVIE IS BETTER THE BOURNE LEGACY OR TOTAL RECALL 2012?

Best movie ever is such a silly distinction. And some movies are better left never remade. Of which Total Recall falls into the later category not that Arnold's was so great either. One should read the tale upon which it is based and then decide.

I always found the Bourne films rather stupid with Matt Damon this indestructible being. His amnesia seemed so very convenient to me and anyone with a half a brain could have figured out the reason for it.

Renner has always been on the periphery for me and I remember his joy at Locker's unsurprising Academy win. I'd seen Stop Loss that year which I much preferred. Perhaps someday I'll sit down and watch Hurt Locker.

Legacy was the first time I sat to watch him as the lead. I had seen him in The Town as well as MI4. He has a way of often delivering a line with such poignancy that I want to know more about the character he is portraying. When he tells Black Widow in Avengers "You and I remember Budapest very differently", it was said with such pained sadness. Or his revealing of the secret he held in MI4.

Which brings me to Legacy. It took way too long for his Aaron Cross to be established and it was only toward the end I thought Renner excelled. His vulnerability was so very apparent especially when he thanks Dr Shearing for viraling him off. The guy is a pretty darn good actor.

So for myself, I'd take Bourne.

If you liked Renner in Bourne Legacy, you definitely have to watch Hurt Locker, he is simply terrific in it and it's pretty darn accurate, according to my husband who's in that field.

To the OP, Bourne Legacy is much better than the total recall remake. Colin Farrell was poorly cast in SWAT.
