Wish this movie were very famous.

I really can't stand characters like this Jay, this Iago, who craps on everything and has nothing positive to say or offer, and generally just tries to make everyone else as unhappy as he is. Only things he seems to think worthwhile are sex and cigarettes. Yet instead of going out and trying to better himself, instead of learning something and exploring possibilities, he's just been waiting around for seven years, just to see if something good will happen. His relations with Clare are bewildering also. If he wants to know more about her, he's seeing her every week: just ask! But no, he thinks stalking her and befriending her husband is the better plan. He cannot discern anything. He imagines this whole point of view that she thinks she has, based on almost no data and which turns out to be not accurate at all. What a surprise.

If this movie were more famous I could at least point out others who are like him in real life and say, Oh, he's a Jay.
