what do you think of this event?

Well, like with any wrestlemania, there were good and bad matches. I remember it made the local news since William Perry was in the battle royal. I am betting many of the wrestlers did not respect the football players since they didn't pay their dues to be at Wrestlemania.

I don't think it was a good idea having celebs call the matches with the pros. Susan Saint James was probably there because she was married to McMahon's buddy, Dick Ebersol. Cathy Lee Crosby doesn't embarrass herself too much, and Elvira was okay.

McMahon was still using jobbers on the card, and many of the wrestlers seemed like they were on loan from other territories. However, the main events at each location were worth it.

I didn't particularly find it thrilling. The WWF was still in its infancy though, mind you. You started to see flashes of the future in terms of style, but its still closer to the pre-1984 wrestling than after. The matches weren't overly special either, the Bulldogs/Dream Team was fine as was the Steamboat/Hercules match, but other than that it wasn't that great. I didn't like the three venues thing. The ring announcer in Chicago sucked, they had dimwits on commentary and I'm sorry Vince McMahon as a little boyscout never means anything to me anymore.

Yeah, the Chicago ring announcer was not that great. Probably because he was not a trained ring announcer, but sports broadcaster Chet Coppick. I think McMahon wanted to make it bigger and better by having it three venues and having celebrity color commentators didn't really work.

Probably more bad matches than good, but I just adore the idea of it. It's incredibly cool, and especially in this day and age with 3 world titles, they should definitely consider doing something like this again.

God's finest creation!

As a kid in the 80s I followed wrestling heavily for 2 years, then got bored of it. But good memories. I attended the Chicago event. Hilarious when Ozzy screamed his allegiance to the Bulldogs. And that pink suit.

A 10 year old kid, I actually teared up when Hogan won because I was angry at how predictable a Hogan victory was. I hated him. In fact, I predicted the outcome of 11.5 of the 12 matches (I guessed a Muraco disqualification, but not the Orndorff). Maybe I could have made some money that night if I had a bookie.

Anyway, though I no longer like wrestling, the British Bulldogs match is still kinda fun. They had skills.

I know its been 5 years since you've posted this, but this is easily the worst Wrestlemania I have ever seen. It was so boring. Each match was less than 3 minutes and were boring. The main event was very good. But just a very terrible show overall. The women's title match was embarrassing.

I know I'm completely bashing the event, but seriously, it was tough to sit through.

And I thought that womens title match was a top 5 ever Wrestlemania match and easily the best womens match ever on a Wrestlemania card
