Yet another reason I don't listen to complainers on message boards....

What a surprise, I saw Windtalkers for the first time and really liked it, and knew that I'd find a flock of people on IMDB yelling "THS MOVEI IS TEH SUX0RZZ LOLS ZOMG!!!" It seems that a lot of decent films that review well by professionals get bad word of mouth from message board trolls. Case in point, Windtalkers and King Arthur, two films I watched recently. I enjoyed both, found a lot to like, but of course you're always going to have some 14 year old computer nerd saying "WORST MOVIE EVER!" on the internet. Obviously the people that say this didn't sit through the amount of MST3K I have, but that's not the point. It's obvious that this is an over the top action film that just HAPPENS to be taking place during WW II. It is NOT the worst war film ever made, in fact it's quite enjoyable (and offers more action than most recent war films). It beats the hell out of Pearl Harbor, thats for sure.

Fully agree, well said... 

I liked your reference to MST3K 

I now have over 7000 films; many of them very rare and OOP. I LOVE to trade. PLEASE ASK! 

Everyone is welcome to their own opinion on the movie, but you are incorrect in saying that this movie did well with professional reviewers... 32% on RT.

That is a big problem for me. I have no interest in a movie that uses history as a theme for action and that cares more about the action than history.

I will be honest. I have not seen the movie. I wanted to know if I should endure Nicholas Cage to learn about this important and interesting part of history. I have learned that I should not.

Note that the IMDB wants people to post honest comments about movies; that is what reviews are about. In Amazon many people post reviews of products. In eBay people post reviews of sellers. In Amazon I always look at the 1-star reviews first since many of them are the most useful. Some people post useless "hateful" reviews but not all 1-star reviews are.

Some people twist other people's words around. If someone has a valid criticism of a show or movie and post a comment about that then sometimes other people say they hate it. That (the word hate) is often (usually) a mis-representation of what they said.
