Amazing film but-

This lady was such a brilliant professor but one thing comes to mind: She never went to doctors, maybe once in 3 to 5 years....Why? Don't they have the time to check her health which is stressed to everyone. Why do these people do that? Do they think there are so smart they just can't take a break in work? This happens to many people in Hollywood. There so famous they think there better then the average guy on the street. One of the people I am thinking of is Elizabeth Montgomery who confessed she never went to doctor even though she had pains in her stomach. She died of colon cancer which could have been cured with a simple check up. It would have been nice if this was brought up in this film!

Dave as a nurse for 35 years I can say first hand that this has nothing to do with Hollywood. Many, too many people ignore their health. # 1..Fear of what they might be told. Think of the three monkeys..see no evi, hear no evil. It just human nature. #2 some people, especially young people want to think that death can not touch them..of course they deep down they know better but try to beat death. Think of the 17 year old who drives 90 miles an hour..they think they are invincible. But fear is the main reason. Are these actions stupid? Sure. But if stupid were considered a crim..we would all be in jail.

Ovarian Cancer is very sneaky. It's symptoms seem like ''other'' things and since she was post-menopausal she would have had even less warning. And yes, she was also obsessed with her career but that wasn't totally the reason why it became so advanced.
