Taina - Worst Show Ever!

For all the years i have watched Nickoldeon in England - ive never seen a really bad programme until i saw Taina. Where do i start - the programme is awful - the jokes arent funny, the story lines are rubbish, the characters are woeful at best. For goodness sake - they are using people in their mid 20s to play middle aged teenagers. The only thing good i could say about "Taina" is that Christina Vidal is clearly a very talented singer, but she should stick to parts which are more relelvant to her current age. On the other hand, Renee Jones, she should be banned from acting for life!

I thought Taina was a decent show, the theme song was kind of annoying and it does get on my nerves from time to time, other than that it was one of the better shows they've had on Nickelodeon in the 21st Century, I wouldn't say Taina was great but it was far from the worst show I've ever seen, the best thing about Taina is getting to see Maritza wearing leather pants.

i actually liked this show. I loved mar-itz-aaa! she was awesome. and i loved the ep with shakira, although i still haven't figured out if that really was shakira! this show is heaps better than say...romeo, which is still airing! take it off! anyway, though, i don't watch nick very often anymore, it's disney and mtv and channel <v> for me!
Tha actors weren't that badd in my opinion. I mean you can't really expect oscar worthy performances anyway, so come on. it was good enough. and i totally agree that all that went down hill after Nick Cannon left.
oh another show i loved on nick was Kenan and Kel. Don't bag me, please don't!!!!!!!!!!

i thought the show was okay!! like one of those to watch when nothing else is on!! but the show is aimed at teenagers like me i don't know how old most of you are but i am assuming the people that started this of where not teenagers but hey i don't know!!

I wish they'd put this on Nick every now & then. I was this shows biggest fan when I was 9.

I used to really like this show but some of the episodes were really boring. I guess I liked the idea of the show, but not the actual show itself.

I can't think of a good signature.

I didn't think the show was all that bad. You guys need to realize that its a show on the Nickolodeon channel. Their target audience is gonna be the younger girls that this stuff appeals to. It's not really a show for teenagers.

I totally agree, I go to a performing arts school and believe it or not that show wasn't so far fetched.

I thought it was good and a lot better than the brothers garcia, catscratch, The new all that, Hey Arnold, Keenan and Kel, just to name a few.

I loved that show. The only reason you guys don't like it is because it doesn't apeal to your taste. If you don't like the characters, then don't watch it. If you don't like the jokes, don't watch it. And the story lines were definently not bad, they were the storylines we see every day. So maybe you should actually watch the show before commenting on it. I mean you guys should give it a chance, you're just bashing. You need to actually watch it and not be immature about like your proving yourselves to be.

This is my opinion, I honestly don't think the show was that bad!!!! Now I really don't remember the show that much but I agree that it would have actually worked if it wasn't on Nickelodean. Disney channel maybe at that time. The show appealed to me mainly because the girl that played Taina, Christina Vidal could sing. The show was targeted for people who were a certain age. I mean the premise of the show was simply. She was trying to follow her dreams and I think that's a universal concept for all people. The show was what it was. To be honest it's a kids show, the actors don't need to be complex. Now this show is not something I would watch now. Maybe for the theme song but that's it.

Oh god yes! Words can't describe how horrendous the acting on this show was.Just another sign of the downfall of Nickelodeon I guess as this and the "Garcia Brothers" were the last two shows on Nickelodeon that I watched on a regular basis.

But on the age thing...that happens in the majority of shows and for that matter movies as well, that focus on teenagers at least here in the U.S.

It's just easier to work with adults than having to deal with child labor laws and how much time can be spent on set and what not.

The show Degrassi, a Canadian show, but popular here in the U.S is the only show I can think of that has actual teenagers playing teenagers.

*Edit*-After looking at the IMDb page for the actress who played "Renee Jones" it appears the casting directors have taken our advice...as she hasn't had any acting credits since Taina went off the air.

Steve, Taina is an AMERICAN show. You're from England and the humor is DIFFERENT from one country to the next so, duhhhh, of course you didn't think any of the jokes were funny.

totally agree afwul show, really bad acting execpt for the singing of Taina. So glad its off the air. Nick can do sooo much better with the likes of Sister Sister, Sabrina and Zoey 101

This goes to all the people who are writing bad things about both Taina, and someone who mentioned Brother Garcia, that you probably didn't liek it because 1. you didn't understand the jokes as much because maybe only us latinos understand it, or 2. you are just being racist to us latinos. I didnt hate Taina because of the race of her and her family but because of the Acting! Which was dreadful, especailly Tainas little brother... so many good child actors out there and they picked him... thats what we mean. Nothing to do with Racism

The acting was certainly awful but I think what kept me interested in this show was the musical aspect. It's all what I remember.

I didn't think this show was bad at all, it was a good show. We need more shows like this on nowadays. Now, all that's on Nickelodeon is Spongebob and iCarly, now THAT is sad.

To all of the people ragging on the show, just know that the show had fantastic ratings... so, you were some of the few who didn't like the show.

I don't know what kind of spectacular acting and storylines you were expecting from a kids show. And the fact that the majority of you don't live in an urban area, lets me know that you probably couldn't relate with any of the characters. And there were a lot of "inside jokes" that you probably didn't get because you weren't African-American or Hispanic.

And f-you-see-k, we all saw your username. We all know that you got the idea from Britney Spears; there's nothing new or innovative about it, so please stop shoving your username down our throats and just cuss for goodness' sake.

I actually think Taina was a great show. Taina came on back in 2001 and I was about 18 at the time. I thought the show was like watching That So Raven or Hannah Montanna or one of those shows. Maybe if it appeared on Disney it would have done better. I liked all the characters and I hate that the show didn't do so well.

Yes I agree I watched Taina when it came on and I just found the episodes on Youtube and remember how much I enjoyed the show. Also for those making negative comments I don't expect everyone to like everything but this show is not the worse. I have seen shows and wonder what were they thinking the show had 2 seasons which is a lot since there are plenty of shows who didn't make it that far or even got pulled off after 3 episodes. Also a lot of shows used older characters to play high school students. Just to name a few Clueless, Dawson's Creek, That's So Raven, even Jackson from Hannah Montana played a high school student and he is in his 30's.
