Is Helga Alive?

It is suggested that she dies but i mean really u never see her die, whereas Rourke u see shattered to pieces. Anyone else feel like Helga survived?

Lol I know sooo many people wish that she'd lived or believed that she did, but I think the only reason they didn't have her bleeding everywhere and her bones sticking out is because it's a PG family film :)

Even if she survived the fall, despite the certainty of having shattered bones and ruptured organs, if the air balloon didn't fall on top of her, the lava would have consumed her.

reply

The balloon crashes near to Milo and before any of the lava but you NEVER see Helga anywhere. So yes she could have easily escaped the battle alive beforehand but the film basically FORGETS HER!!!???

It's sad to say if the film makers were being SUPER lazy with there story line by then or the main fact that she not given much of a "arch" through out it if at all.

They seemed to want her to have a action liner though but ANY character development on anyone's part was non existed including her's.

It feels like such a waste too but story wise i do personally feel she does survive BUT the film makers's are way to lazy by then in terms of story to think of about anything like that and would rather fill it EVEN MORE action scenes.

Plus i always thought that DISNEY has remained even today pretty vague themselves on relating to what happened to Helga since this film come out?

reply

It's obvious that she died. The reason we don't see it is because it's a Disney film. You can't just show someone bleeding to death or being burned alive in lava.

reply

Ether way IT'S STILL JUST LAZINESS on Disney's part if they FORGET A CHARACTER like this to the point were it becomes a unresolved plot point.

Maybe someday someone at Disney will give a reasonable enough explanation as to what happened with her(like a comic book or something) but since this film has a bad reputation over there it be WOULDN'T be cleared up as of now.

Again i personally hope she's alive at least that her story about surviving in Atlantis would be WAY MORE INTERESTING at least compared to the "uninteresting Milo is KING" for some reason and WHY hasn't Kida not killed him yet!!!????

reply

I don't see it as an unresolved plot point though. It's clear that they intended for us to believe that she died, and the fact that she's not in the sequel should have squashed any lingering doubt. Any explanation for how she could have survived would have to be very contrived.

reply

That sequel doesn't need to exist period!!.

Although i find it funny that the team in that "sequel" just randomly give Kida what was i guess was Helga's place within the team!!!????

Still i guess there people online who are still really passionate to think this forgotten DISNEY character did somehow manged avoid her fate within the volcano but again it could also be do to just the insane amount of laziness in story telling or to the point where the film makers just DON'T CARE!about there own story that also upsets me.

I thought the film wants us to think she's "missing" and i always thought the zeppelin falling down on her was in fact a very mean spirited joke aimed at her(are the crew members just going be this cold hearted about to point were you feel like punching them for it!).

Those anyone have a clue as to WHAT the film makers were trying say if they wanted there "action movie" with a crew of nothing but anti-heroes? or why they thought that was the best idea for it?

By some miracle, the fall didn't kill her but either the dirigible crashing on top of her or the volcanic eruption certainly did the deed.
