Is this movie serious or funny?

Hi,

From the trailer it looks like a comedy but wondering if it's a dark movie like the Krays which is also a good gangster movie. Don't know much about this guy but from what i've seen he looks pretty mean, so would hope this film is kinda dark. :)

Cheers.

The film is indeed dark...yet funny at the same time, in a twisted kinda' way!
Just Chopper's whole persona and attitude towards carrying out his ghastly deeds is scarily hillarious, trust me.

Watch the film, Komp. You'll love it, believe me!

Today, I was just browsing in the local library when I came across Chopper's first book, which I haven't been able to find anywhere before, couldn't believe my luck!

So I got the book out and will be crackin' into it later tonight...and then maybe watch the film again, lol.

Thanks for the reply, will give it a watch then. Havn't read the book but someone told me he's quite a character. :P

I'd call it a drama with some very darkly humorous moments. It does a great job of balancing the often serious subject matter with a sometimes light touch - it's very edgie in how it manages this, not unlike how Tarantino mixes the two, though I wouldn't want people to get the idea that this is just a clone of a Tarantino film, I'm just using that as a point of reference.

It's serious mate but the feller has such charisma and charm you can't help but like him. In the film anyway.

Serious film with tons of black humor.

cool, thanks!

The movie is serious but it has the best black humour I've ever seen. Most of its dialogues are as dark as funny.

Very serious, very very funny.
I'd class this film as a must see, Bana is superb, his best role to date without question. Everyone should see this film. Also if you enjoyed the film you will love his book, buy it!

Dunno where ya guys from but in Australia you get the book at the bloody airport, but it's a great book and I reckon ts better to read it before the movie cuz' anyway there's not much details but you get an idea of his life and after you recognise the bits in the movie, ts really great. Mine has heaps of picture including three good pix of Sammy The Turk, before, and after a bullet came through his brains, a pic of Margaret in her bikini, a good shot of Jimmy Loughnan and Johnny Price on the roof of division B after they broke out division H........ anyway! its not a big book as well so you dont get headaches, and.... just come to Australia to get it it worth the trip

g'day mates !!!!

When Chopper's father looks at him after he gets out of prison and says
"Cheers big ears." That part made me laugh so f ucking much.

It's twisted comedy. Chopper is a complete nutjob but he's also very charismatic.
