Most original, influential Horrors of the last decade:

Scream (defined the genre for years and revitalised it in general)
Ginger Snaps 1 +2 (resurrected the werewolf-subgenre)
Ringu (THE blueprint for all those wonderful asian horror flicks with those black-haired girls that kill)
Blair With Project (1000 copies. None was good. This one is.)
Wes Craven's New Nightmare (probably the most self-reflexive postmodern thing I've ever seen in horror)
Final Destination (Evil. Pure evil.)

Hope I didn't forget something important (c'mon, Se7en is great, but it is more of a thriller, don't you think?) Note that 2 of them are by Wes Craven. Hooray for Craven!

Aaand...: "Horror Hotline - Big Head Monster" (from Hong Kong). Awright, the title is as stupid as it gets and it is definetely not a single bit original, but it scares the crap out of me, everytime.

If Black Christmas is good than I am the ruler of the universe. Honestly the dialouge and acting is nails on chalboard bad, the murders are tame and lame, unoriginal and boring, and the script and directing looked like it was from someone who clearly didn't know what they were doing.

Slashers even if bad acting is invovled sometime, usually have something decent to them, the remake didn't.

Go watch the original cause its better than Halloween.

1st off, This post is called name 5 good movies in the last 10 years, and since this post was created in 2004, then that must mean that you should be picking movies from 1994-2004

2nd off, I can't believe people and saying *beep* movies like house of wax, jason x and jeepers creepers, someone actually put soul survivors as there favorite lol.
Jason X was the worst movie in the the series that they could of made so stupid.
house of wax licks balls, so does Paris hilton, worst actress ever, jeepers creepers was a waste of time and dont even get me started on soul survivors, oh boy!

If I had to pick 5 horror movies, not sci-fi or suspense but horror movies i would pick in no order what so ever:

Well I just discovered this thread so im just posting my fav horror flicks of all time. . . .

Night of the living Dead (Original ) .. I would wake up in the
middle of the night to look out the window for zombies creeping.

CandyMan . . . I wouldn't look in a mirror for a week.

The Skeleton Key . . . I was just f . . .u c k e d up in the head. I sat in one spot unable to move due to the demented twist ending.

Tales from the Hood. . . The ending was deeply disturbing. . . I couldn't sleep without leaving a light on.

Sinister . . . I had to mute the tv because the music scared the shhhh out of me.

Pls remember I included theses movies because these
are the few movies that actually had me deeply terrified at the time I viewed them.
