Name 5 good horrors in the last 10 years?

There are very few horror movies these days. I had no idea what this movie was about before I watched it. I was pleasantly surprised at the tension kept throughout the movie. I was terrified at the paranoia of who to trust, turn to, or how insane she was. The confusion was defining her friends from her enemies, and once trust was established she would find proof of their lies. Consequently, I was relieved at the end because the level of paranoia was too much for me. If you look at it as something other than life vs death, it's a good movie.
1. The Ring
2. Dark Water
3. Dawn of the Dead (maybe)
4. The Faculty (not really scary but good)
That's it!

I totally agree that good horror movies are extremely rare these days. However, I cannot agree with your assessment that Soul Survivors is one of them- in fact, I thought it was horrible.

Actually, I didn't like the The Ring, either. The Faculty was pretty good and The Blair Witch Project was great. The first two Scream movies were quite good, as well.

In no particular order...
1. Ju-On: The Grudge
2. House Of 1000 Corpses
3. Seven
4. The Blair Witch Project
5. American Psycho

I know that American Psycho and Seven are a stretch, but the rest stand. House Of 1000 Corpses is one of the most underrated horror films ever!! Oh, and watch out, Hollywood is already bringing Ju-On overseas (Just like Ringu).

1.Saving Private Ryan...
:-)

Hey, thanks for the Ju-On reference, I'll be looking for it.

reply

Ju-On: The Grudge is one of the better horror films I have ever seen. The fright is pure, not induced with a score or shock. The Japanese are making horror films that put the Americans to shame. I am very interested to hear what you think. If you are desperate to find it you and order it for a nominal price from this site: http://www.dvdasian.com/
Let me know what you think on this post. Hope you dig it.

just look to:donnie darko, may, octane and there is more...

reply

Donnie Darko is not a horror film, it is a science fiction about time travel. I loved it but in no way did it scare me. Stigmata was scarier and it didn't scare me. I haven't seen May or Octane.
