I'm Thai (so yes I'm fluent in Thai and English) and I still had no idea what the crap he was saying and I tried so hard. No critism here, I do applad him for trying to learn all of that. I almost did a spit take when Ben says the line "He speak Thai very good." Still, pretty impressive. You go De Niro!

I must have missed this the first time, but on the second viewing I couldn't stop laughing when Blythe Danner said it.
And Ben's line was
"Oh no, Dina, Jack CAN talk Thai. Jack talked Thai real well."
I wonder if "Jack can talk Thai" can be correct grammar if you are expressing that "Jack can talk ABOUT the Thai language."
I have to go back to 5th grade and diagram sentences.
