The most underrated movie of all time...bar none

This is in my top 5. It's an awesome movie, even with J-LO starring in it. The visuals are amazing!

This is in my top 25 of all time. I wish Vaughn would get back to this kind of stuff, he is too good an actor to be playing the same character in all the stupid movies he has been in for too many years.

I wouldn't say it's the most underrated of all time. I'd give that award to Lucky Number Slevin. The Cell is probably in my top 10 underrated though. This is the kind of movie you either love or hate. I loved it, but apparently enough people hated it for some reason.

Agreed, it's also in my top 5, and I'd say it's rating should be around 7.5, maybe even an 8.

The Last Horror Film 6/10
The Girl Who Knew Too Much 6/10
End Of The Line 8/10

I think some of it has to be the JLo factor, that usually drops any film by 1 haha.. Visually an incredible feast. The plot is a little weak. Vincent Donofrio is great.

I think it deserves a 7.5 rating. I liked it, but think that the story had more potential than we saw in the movie, it also felt a bit short and not "deep" enough. After all, it was "just another psycho killer movie" with some SF elements/dream sequences.

I think there's depth in the subtext of the film. Not everything has to be spelled out on screen or done in a convoluted way aka Inception in my opinion. Yes, I do think the plot can be better (also, I am not sure why it feels like a rehash of Silent Hill: The Room in some ways? Even the climax is similar) but it's not bad either.

reply

How can it be a rehash of a game that came out years later? Not to say there aren't similarities, as there most certainly are, but "rehash" seems an odd choice considering the order they were released in.

Anyway, I agree there's a ton of depth in the subtext, symbolism, and psychology of The Cell and that the film is most definitely underappreciated.

Loved the movie. Great work of visual art sewed together to make a movie.
Saw "The Fall", another gr8 movie from this director. This guy is a genius has the balls to make a completely orthogonal movies from the standard genre and be committed to it fully.
The movie totally sucked me in. Audio was also brilliant, made my expensive earphones worth buying it.

These hyperbolic statements hardly muster any kind of substantial exchange of opinions.
