Directors cut...

Did y'all hear about "restore the magic" campaign to release the original cut of the film before the American backers made Britt Allcroft change about 75% of her original film? I read her original screenplay online, which is a much better film. In fact, that film was shot and had a rough cut, but it got changed about a month before the film was even released. Thoughts?
