This movie is against Hard Rock and Heavy Metal!

Hi!
Why nobody sees that this movie is against Hard Rock And Heavy Metal?
It's not real that two cover bands fight only to decide who is the best cover band! Since the beginning in Hard Rock and Heavy Metal there was something called brotherhood, all together against the world. That's the difference from the commercial music and our world!
Then in 1986 circa there was a fight between Thrashers and Glamsterz but we all remember that Davy Vain founder and singer of the underrated Sleaze Metal band Vain also produced the album of the great Thrash Metal band Death Angel. In 1991 the fight ended because Grunge arrived and destroyed everything.
Grunge and his "alternative" brothers are the enemy since the 1991 and look at the end of the movie... it's obvious that the protagonist betrays Hard Rock for the newcomer... damned Grunge! This is against our world!
Then we discover that the original singer wears a wig.. that's against all our values... do you remember the attack to the movie Spinal Tap? Everybody said "nobody wears a wig in hard rock world!".
And who can believe that a bastard like Mark Wahlberg is a metalhead? He's one of the worst actor of all the time, he was called Marky Mark and made lousy "music"! I still remember the quote against him in the great movie called Airheads!
And the scene in the disco... we are against disco!!! Only a fake one or a betrayer goes to a disco after a concert!!! And the drugs? Please read our bible, The Dirt from Motley Crue, as you can read there aren't designer drugs!
And the sex with a transexual... that's another obvious message that all our world it's fake!
Our brotherhood is fake, our coherence is fake, our long hair and our look are fake, our blazoned heterosexuality is fake... the world of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal is fake!
Well I can't stand this anymore, it's war, baby! And you gonna die!
I know that the soundtrack it's good... I know that there are great artists such as Zakk Wilde, Jeff Scott Soto, Jason Bonham, Jeff Pilson and Blas Elias but metalheads all over the world raise up against this movie!
Boycott this movie because it's against us!
The funny thing is that everybody keep saying "It's a only a movie, chill out!".
Let me explain why it's not only a movie. When we talk about Batman movies, we can say that the Burton's movies are perfect and the Schumacher's movies are crap, why so serious? They are only a movie!
Well the problem is the attitude! The Schumacher's version of Batman is fake and betrays the original idea of Batman like the serials from the sixties!
And it's same here! I agree Rockstar isn't a documentary but it's fake and it doesn't have the right attitude.

I don't have the time to break this all down for you at this time, but I'd like to help you with some of your worries here.... There are some true artists that don't sell-out once they get a taste of the celebrity lifestyle. But they are far and few between. I used to become disgruntled myself, when I'd see a favorite singer/songwriter/band..whatever become a "sell-out", but then I realized...At a VERY young age...'It's just all about the dollar, just like everything else in this world.' And that I was wasting my time in depriving myself of the remarkably progressive music out there I had been refusing to listen to.
#1. It is called the music "Business" because it IS a business! MOST of the people in the biz are there for the money, and would happily go from singing/performing to acting...to performing a completely different genre..to 'Dancing With The F'N Stars!'...being "The Biggest Loser"..anything.. to stay in the lime light, they could care less if they ever get back to playing their original genre."Show me the money!" they shout!!!!! And who can blame them? I mean now? After EVERYONE else has sold out?
#2.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Halford..... Are you really THAT naive? To believe that there was only 1 gay guy singing his heart out for your "Brotherhood"? R-E-P-R-E-S-E-N-T'N YO ! ! LMFAO ( Because anybody's who's anybody knows there is no such thing as the occasional sword crossing in a drug induced orgy! ESP. in an orgy involving a member -'pun intended'- of the Hard Rock/Heavy Metal "Brotherhood" )
#3.That was no "Disco" party scene. It may have had some disco lighting, but Dude! That was a club! You know? A club? Like say...Whiskey a go go? Perhaps you should go back to your "Bible" and study some more!I don't recall reading any one of those guys (Motley Crue) turning down any drugs, designer or otherwise, and I read The Dirt twice.
#4. You have very right to your own opinion. But you are very naive to think that all your Metal Rock Idols are( or were ) all they appeared to be.Just like any other generation/genre/influence, the industry puts them out there with the whole gimmick pre-planned, smoke and mirrors,if you will. Even the whole "Brotherhood" you speak of? Come on? Who do you think would be the benefactor of that idea anyway? Only foolish people who are followers...sheep,as they are often referred to.
So rest assured, this movie was about one mans experience with the horrible industry known as the music industry. Your "Brotherhood" is safe...
I won't even get started on Wahlberg's multi-faceted talents and career, and your opinion of him will likely worry his fans for quite some time, but then again, perhaps you have some videos of you and your band, and want to post and share those links the rest of us, and let the people vote...Marky Mark or You?

I might as well enjoy my life and watch the stars play...........

Maybe I'm naive... but I'm not the only one that have discovered the true message of this movie... I prefer to be naive but coherent.
What can I say about your idea of metal brotherhood? If it's fake and created by industry why the glamsters are still here? Now the genre isn't on TV and isn't mainstream... the bandwagon fans are gone but the pure ones are still here!
A week ago I went to a ZZ Top concert and we treated each other like brothers, and I don't know anybody!
About the Dirt... I didn't say that there's written that somebody turned down the designer drugs, I said that they use only cocaine, eroine and maryjane.
But that's only a detail to let understand everybody how I found the real meaning of the movie...
As the disco scene... I don't think it's an hard rock club like Whisky A Go Go, Cathouse or whatever, listen to the music! And the look of the girls? Finally... they are all dancin'! I don't care if it's a disco or a club, it's not a place for true Hard Rockes or Metal Head!
I'm not homophobic and I know that Rob Halbford it's not the only one but sayying that the singer is gay it's a message... another message that's all fake! Like the wigs!
It's not Marky or me! It's Marky (one of most overrated actor of the world) against another actor... think about Edward Furlong, for example!
As I said sorry for my bad english.

Holy *beep* you are a *beep* moron!

reply

I don't think I have ever heard anybody call weed "Maryjane" maybe in the 70's.
Also, it's heroin not heroine they are two completely different things. That's all.

reply

Nicely executed article of your opinions. I planned on responding to the original post, but your comments saved me from needing to do this.

One word to the original post maker...your English is fine. I do not know what your first language is, but I am quite certain that I would butcher it. You are bilingual and that is a great way to be.

reply

I'm agreeing on all points. However, it still is one of the few movies made about metal music, so it's hard to boycott. But there are quite a few things I'm totally against, especially the awful, depressing and grungy ending. Disgusting! I wish they would do a remake. With better music, no disco or grunge. And a happy ending!

reply

Yes, it's one of the few movies made about metal music but it's full of abused stereotypes and stupid cliches about the metal/rock world. Time ago, I've read an interview with Glenn Tipton (one of the two Judas Priest guitarists) where he said that this movie sucks. And besides, I didn't appreciate the words that Mark Wahlberg says during the end titles (I found them disgusting and offensive for a metal fan). A movie written without a real love for metal but just to earn some money (and it failed even this target of course).

reply

I need to really thank "obsolhei" and "Okedeus_X" for the beautiful words.
Thank you for the Tipton quote!
As I said there are few movies made about metal music but this the only one to avoid! Watch Decline Of Western Civilization II, Wayne's World I and II, Airheads, Detroit Rock City or Trick Or Treat for example!
Sorry for my bad english, I feel so bad about that...

reply

It's hard to have self respect when you are a failed rock star living in your mother's basement.

I don't have an opinion. The word "opinion" implies the possibility I'm wrong.

reply

ROTFL...doesn't anyone know what run-on sentence means???? Apparently, that would have been asking too much!

Heavy metal and glam metal are a little bit different imo, and the 80's were my hey-day! I guess it's all personal opinion anyway, but I loved all the glam metal- Motley Crue, Poison, Warrant, etc...

I don't know that I would have put Judas Priest in the same category as "glam", but I loved the tunes, and their life-styles were probably very similar- rock and roll is just rock and roll...

I put the fun in dysfunction!

Its against *beep* heavy metal and rock, and the retards who still listen to that crap.

reply

How the hell do you boycott a movie that came out nine years ago?

reply

LOL

reply

"Boycott" it's only an hyperbole to say "Don't support this movie", "Don't buy the DVD", "Don't say that this movie is an Hard Rock/Heavy Metal movie"... somethin' like that, you know?

Sorry for my bad english.

reply

Finally... if you want made a real good story about a man against evil music industry, well read the lyrics and the story of "The Crimson Idol", one of the best album from one of the best band: W.A.S.P.!

Sorry but English it's not my first language can you explain me what do you mean with "doesn't anyone know what run-on sentence means????"

Yeah Heavy Metal and Glam Metal are a little bit different! But I use to think that Heavy Metal is the genre and Glam Metal is one of the subgenre, yeah they are all craps made by rewievers, but they are useful to understand somethin'!

Judas Priest are Heavy Metal not Glam Metal, but I like them so much...

An example of a run on sentence would be when somebody makes several points and for whatever reason, keeps the topic going on longer and longer without the use of proper punctuation they just keep talking about different points and ideas about The Who's what's where's and whys this movie sucked discussing things in great detail and explaining your dislike if the movie or maybe how you love the movie or perhaps how this is only a movie and not anything factual trying to remind people that your English is not very good saying it in nearly every post as if we don't understand that English is not your main language.

Your English is just fine. I understand you. What is your primary language?

My idea of a fun on sentence was an example, this might explain things better:

Run-on sentences occur when two or more independent clauses are joined without using a coordinating conjunction (i.e., for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so) or correct punctuation (i.e., semicolon, dash, or period).

A run-on sentence can be as short as four words, for instance I drive she walks. In this case, there are two subjects paired with two intransitive verbs. An imperative sentence can be a run-on even if it only has two words, for instance "Run walk". However, with correct punctuation a writer can assemble multiple independent clauses in a single sentence. A properly constructed sentence can be extended indefinitely.

While some sources view comma splices as a form of run-on sentence, others limit the term to independent clauses that are joined without punctuation.

Too much yack yack yack. Readers Digest this rambling for me K? My bottom line is, I love heavy metal, you suck and get a life.

reply

Sorry?
I can't understand what do you mean with "Readers Digest this rambling for me K?"
And if the line "you suck and get a life" is for me, can you explain me why you are so upset with me, please?
It's only a forum where everybody can say their opinions, I don't think that I'm right, I think somethin' and I need to know if somebody else think the same...

Thank you.

reply

I can't argue with you, my metal brother. I just watched this movie for the first time and loved it for the music and the musicians in it, but I sensed an inherent anti-metal bias in it. Or at the very least, a gross misunderstanding of what it means to be metal. I blame hair metal. That's always the easy way out.

reply

Thank you for your support, brother.
As I said the music is wonderful... but it's the rest that is rotten.
I don't blame Hair Metal, I blame majors and MTV for the overexposure of Hair Metal that caused hate from brothers and love from bandwagon fans.
I blame the other genres that came after 1991... grunge, indie, nu metal etc...

As always I hope you can forgive my bad english.

Peace!
