What's Your Favorite Episode?

Easy, Engineering Disasters 5 - Lake Peigneur Disaster

I can now sleep soundly at night. I saw this episode when it first aired in December 2003, and thought it was the most amazing thing ever, but I forgot the name of the lake and have been searching for the last 4 years to see it again.. and I FOUND IT TONIGHT!!!

I can't think of a more preventable disaster than these two "man-made" industrial activities. To have an oil rig drill into a salt mine shaft really seems like bad luck. But then to have a "150 foot oil rig dissappear into what was originally a 10 foot deep lake" must have been scary as hell to have witnessed as the lake whirlpooled to drain into the mine shaft.

I know that not all of them are up to the same standards, but it's still a worthwhile show. What are your favorite episodes?

The Logging/Lumber episode was pretty cool. There may have been two seperate shows with one on each subject. I can't quite remember. Awesome show though...

I favorites are the Engineering Disasters ones along with the the episodes that features the the products that came out in the 60s, 70s, and the 80s. Also the fast and sncakfood shows as well.

Believe it or not, my favorite was the one on milk. Not because it was the very best, but I was honestly astonished that I found a documentary on milk so interesting. Even fascinating. You should have seen the looks I got at work the next day when someone asked me what I did last night, and I told them I stayed home and watched a documentary on milk on Modern Marvels. They make any subject interesting for though we are all familiar with the subject matter, we in reality know very little about how whatever it is is produced, comes from, uses for it, how its made....etc. I love them all. But will admit that engineering disasters is one of my favorites. I love seeing a bunch of supposedly smart people royally screw up...

They're all great, but my personal favorite is Bathroom Tech.

My fav is bathroom tech and the one with the coin op machines which included the guy from the place that has the old automachines like you can put in a quarter to watch some old maniquin puke in a trash barrel lol. I loved it so much that I researched the guy and saved a bunch of youtube videos on it.

My favorite episode is the one about the Transatlantic Cable, I just find it sooooooo interesting all the trials and successes and failures they endured trying to connect the continents. A 2000+ mile long cable laying on the ocean floor, all the fundraising, the successes, the failures, using the largest ship on Earth at the time to lay the cable, the competition with Western Union, it's all amazing to me!
