What was the Firts episode you saw

Mine was the Hiatus one. That one just cracked me up, especially when MccGuirk and Lynch go to the bar in mexico.

Get Away from My Mom, I watched the series when it premiered here in the UK. Unfortunately they only showed the first 2 seasons and they haven't aired it since 2004. I've seen a Season 3 episode and I've been meaning to get all the seasons on dvd but I can't find a decent UK seller. I got season 1 from some place though.

mine was "those bitches tried to cheat me" .

was it called septopuss? the one with fenton and paulas boyfriend being hard to dismiss. That was the first one I saw. I actually didn't want to watch the show at first because I remember I thought the promos they had for them were dumb...
Now I own all 4 seasons. The dvds, not the hotel chain

The first episode I saw was Cho and The Mysteries Of Amy Lee.

I hated it, but when I saw Get Away From My Mom on Adult Swim Fix, I couldn't get enough of this show. That episode was hilarious!

"Storm Warning."

I believe my first one was "The Party" and it is still one of my favorites, I just love Jason.

Jason: Everyone is staring at you, in your stupid ritch b*tch dress.

"Method of Acting" I loved right away!
"School Nurse" and "Mortgages and Marbles" were the 2nd and 3rd.

reply

the golfing one. i was hooked right away.

"her breath was like a combination of cigarettes and fellatio"

reply

The very first episode. I had no idea what was going on.

Is it just me, or has use of the word "pretentious" gone up 150% in the last 5 years?

reply

"Life Through a Fisheye Lens"

Mistakes were made...

The "Family Therapy" episode. "The Shrinking President-King" is still one of my favourite Brendon 'movies'.

Well I think it was Shore Leave, the one with the Fairy Princesses. I was at my friend's house and it was about 1am and we were just watching TV for anything good and Home Movies came on. I loved it, but my friend was pretty indifferent. Anyway I forgot all about for a year or so until I stumbled upon it again at my own house ( I had since gotten cable) and once again it was Shore Leave! So after that I ordered some scattered discs from Netflix. Well, one thing lead to the next, and now I own one season with prospects of buying more and I watch it often on Yotube

Mine was "My Cheatin' Heart", the golf one, where they parody "the Legend of Bagger Vance" and "Memento".

Either "Shore Leave" or "Camp." I'm a little fuzzy on the order, because I was pretty drunk at the time, but I watched them back to back, and after the following lines...

SHORE LEAVE--
McGuirk: Wow, Melissa... you should not be at the mall. Alone. In that outfit.
Melissa: Coach, are you drunk?
McGuirk: Why do you think I came to the mall?

and CAMP---
McGuirk: Here Brendon, eat these leaves. They're poisonous.
followed by
McGuirk: Alright, I'm gonna need beer. Light beer, preferably. Food. Fast food, preferably. I'm gonna need aerial surveillance of this entire area.

...I was hooked.

I remember watching the first 2 episodes on UPN actually, because I was a fan of that show Dilbert, and Home Movies came on either before or after it. So when I actually did watch it I remember that I thought the show was completely bland, and not funny, and that I was also fairly grossed out by the Jason character. 7 years later, only after a few sporadic viewings late at night on Adult Swim, I finally watched an full episode on adultswim.com, and fell in love with this show.

the party. by the time this exchange came around about 1:30 in:

JASON: i got him an eraser...it's shaped like a football. it has a dual function.
MELISSA: what does it do besides erase?
JASON: you can play catch with it.
BRENDON: well...you can pretty much do that with anything, jason.
JASON: but it's shaped like a football.
BRENDON: what did you get him melissa?
MELISSA: a cd.
JASON: that's stupid.
MELISSA: you can also play catch with it.

i knew it was the start of a beautiful friendship.

Fenton's Party.

We all knew brats like Fenton in school. I remember in 2nd grade I was placed at a table with a horrible ginger child. She would criticize the way I colored yet she would copy me and then pretend that I copied her. Everyone hated her but you couldn't say what you really felt or she would make a scene. Anyway, it was a really therapeutic episode for me.

Mortages and Marbles, some time during the summer of 2002 I think it was on YTV Canada late night.

reply

the one where Brendon fights the bully and documents himself training for the fight

just hilarious

The first one I saw, was the ending of that episode where McGuirk is spray painting the wall after calling the cops when they arrive to arrest him. It was during the first run on Adult swim. I was curious and stuck with it.

And I have not yet regretted it.
