The scariest catastrophe of the series

Which vision of a catastrophe from all the movies of the series was the scariest in your opinion and why? For me it was the rollercoaster one because of the victims’ total inability to get out – if it didn’t happen up in the air, they’d have bigger chances to survive even if only in theory.

For the opening disasters, it is a tie between the plane crash and the car pileup. I love roller coasters and always ride them and the whole NASCAR thing was just silly. Bridge collapse was pretty freaky but I have to go with the plane blowing up because there is no escape.

As for the deaths I have one from each movie that got to me. The FD movies are the only horror films that still manage to scare the hell out of me.

FD 1: Definitely Tod's death, first time I saw that I was scared to go in the bathroom for a week.

FD 2: Something about Tim's death got to me. I guess I just didn't expect a kid to die so brutally and I was around his age when I first saw this one.

FD3: Toss up between the tanning beds and the drive through. I originally saw this one on TV so I had no idea Frankie's death was so brutal, it caught me by surprise. As for the tanning beds, I will NEVER get in one, ever.

FD 4: Hunt's death in the pool drain, that was just sick. Still wondering what exactly happened to him.

FD 5: I have to go with the Eye surgery, that just looked painful.

Oh man I would have to say the plane crash from the first movie of the series. The thought of going on a plane now just terrifies me, however irrational a fear it may be. I'd probs have to take some xanax with me if I ever wanna travel overseas again.

Car crash scene by far IMO. The ladder through the eye and everything leading up to it was a good one as well. also the one where the guy choked in the shower.

For me a 3 way tie between the laser eye surgery, the airplane, and the car crash.

For the opening disasters, I'd have to say the car pileup from the 2nd one, and the plane explosion from the 1st. The car crash because I'm just learning how to drive. I already have my learner's permit, and I've driven in the store parking lot a few times, but I still haven't driven on the actual road yet. Just thinking about what could happen makes me not want to drive ever again. The plane explosion because, like other people have said, once you're on the plane, you're on for good. Being thousands of miles in the air, and having nowhere to go if something happens is scary. I've flown before, and just those few seconds when the plane drops a few feet, and you're falling, is terrifying.

Honestly the ones from 1,2,3 & 5 for different reasons.

#1 - because not only have I never flown before but the thought of being up in the air and the plane falling from the sky/blowing up etc. is terrifying.

#2 - while I have, obviously ridden in a car before, the thought of being trapped in a car and involved in a crash let alone a pile up like we see in the film is once again terrifying. I stupidly made the decision to watch it one night at University when the next day my dad would be picking me up to go home for the weekend. Cue the 1 1/2 drive home, mostly on the motorway/ high way, with me being extra paranoid Didn't help that not only did Highway to Hell come on the radio but that a freaking log truck passed us the same time! I literally freaked out a little and turned the station over; yes my dad looked at me crazy lol

#3 - I have a love/hate relationship with roller coasters. I love the rides and the thrill but I'm always terrified I won't be strapped i probably or it'll break/get loose somehow or the ride will break/crash. This opening did not help those fears! Haven't been on a proper roller coaster in years, though not due to this film, just haven't had the chance. Also it didn't help that a ride I went on 3 times in my early/mid teens was shut down after a girl died when her jacket caught on the bar of the ride and she was thrown from the ride as it went down the vertical drop. Never been on that ride since and yes that was the reason for it

#5 - Well, kind of the same as 2 really. Also the extra feeling of helplessness being in the middle of a bridge as it's collapsing. There's this bridge called The Severn Bridge which is really long that connects England and Wales and as a child my family would go on it ever summer to go on holiday and as a child I was terrified of exactly what happens in this film happening there. This opening brought that back lol

Plane crash. A lot of people are afraid of flying, myself included, and I found this sequence terrifying.

Snakes. Why'd it have to be snakes?
