How could you not LOVE this movie?!

Ok, this is coming from someone who thinks the pinnacle of television was Mystery Science Theater. This movie was absolutely WONDERFUL! I was rolling from the second the gay bald guy with blue lipstick cocked his head to one side and squeezed out the line "You can control dragons!"

It seemed to me as if this movie were almost made as a joke on people. "Let's see what we can get people to drop ten bucks on!" It was clearly a deliberate and concentrated assault on people who like D&D. Nothing else could describe it. I'm sure it enraged the legions of D&D fans who thought this would be a serious fantasy like LoTR or the miserable Eragon (oddly enough, Jeremy Irons embarrassing himself for our enjoyment again!). They rubbed their oily faces in disgust and threw their 142 oz diet Pepsi at the screen.

I think this film was fantastic. Granted, I would never pay a dime to see it, but this movie on a rainy monday morning while the wife was at work was a great way to relax.

Mate, you are spot on! If I'd paid to see it at the cinema I would be piiiiiissed off! However, I didn't... I watched it on TV and freakin' loved it! What a camp, crappy rinsing of an awesome board game which clearly never had a chance on the big screen in the first place!

Go to the loo, 'cause all the *beep*'s coming out your mouth instead of your a-hole...

I paid - I saw - I wetted.

I wouldn't blame the actors - they're the puppets.
Those who pull the strings are to blame.
Bad bad bad direction.
Was it deliberate?
Or an accident?
After a quick check, it looks like Courtney Solomon is to blame. The Director doth messed it bad.
Probably should also toss the writers under the "Bus", too.

I loved it, but that might be because I never played Dungeons & Dragons. Plus Thora Birch is hot.

reply

Empress Savina is so hot. She should have done a nude scene in the movie.

reply

She did in American Beauty, but that's not quite the same thing I guess.

Bigoted much?

I too loved this bloody gwad-awful flick! It was a total let down for me because yea I wanted it to be the quality of LotR.

There is something about the cheesiness of this movie was so good yet not as cheesy as "The Sword and The Sorcerer" (which I like too). D&D the movie did have it's moments of being a fairly decent flick to watch.

This is one of those movies that I love to hate and hate to love... I do have a love-hate relationship with the movie.

This is one of the most hilarious movies I've ever seen. I borrowed it from my neighbor, watched it, and decided to buy it. It was like the best $8 I ever spent.

There is no objective reality... and that's Sucker Punch

I had a decent time watching this flick too.
