I like this film. A great prequel, and some fine acting. Plus, Guy Rolfe returns as the elder Andre Toulon. And Greg Sestero as Young Toulon is great, slightly annoying accent though, but I can literally believe this young man growing up into the Guy Rolfe Toulon. Guy Rolfe is the best actor to have played Toulon.

The first time I saw RETRO, I didn't like it much, but the more you watch it, the more you can learn to enjoy it.

I was disappointed. That's me!

The acting is terrible, seems like the actors themselves were the puppets.

It wasn't the best PM sequel. I agree with the acting, two actors in particular delivered their lines so woodenly, I thought they were puppets!

I honestly disliked it the most of any Puppet Master movie, I'm a huge fan of the puppets/Charles Band/Full Moon in general, but I must say I enjoyed this one the least, maybe future viewings will help me get into it more, I appriciate what it was, but it just didn't cut it for me, The puppets weren't as cool looking(besides maybe Tunneler, the rest didn't even have eyes), and there were alot of flaws, plot holes, and errors, but it was alright, I'd say see it if you've seen the rest or are a completist, then own it, I bought it off ebay for four bucks, its worth that I'd say, I'll rate each Puppet Master film now, in my opinion, sorry to those who disagree but this is how I liked them.

Puppet Master - 7.5/10. The first half was sort of boring but interesting enough to keep me watching, and the last half was really great.

Puppet Master II - 7/10. Although I liked the plot, it isn't the best. Certainly not the worst though, lots of memorable kills.

Puppet Master III - 8/10. This is probably my favorite in the series, Six Shooter was first introduced, he is my favorite puppet(I have a figure of him :D), and I just liked the story the best. Well written, acted, and just a good movie.

Puppet Master 4 - 7/10. I sort of liked this one, although not the best, some of the new ideas were cool.

Puppet Master 5 - 6/10. Basically just continued from 4, although not as exciting.

Curse of The Puppet Master(Puppet Master 6) - 7/10. Now, I know lots of people consider this as the worst in the series, but I liked the Matt and Tank dolls, and it was just cool to see an all new story.

Retro Puppet Master(Puppet Master 7) - I'll be generous here, and give it a 5. My IMDB rating I originally gave was 3, but I'll give it credit for what it tried to do, just wasn't too memorable, hardly any blood and kills, and the dolls just didn't look as neat, besides Tunneler, who was a pretty cool Retro doll, I liked Cyclops too, so 5, for those few things. And Guy Rolfe's last film appearance.

Puppet Master:The Legacy(Puppet Master 8) 5/10. Decent I suppose, nothing too new or cool though.

Puppet Master Vs. Demonic Toys(Puppet Master 9/Demonic Toys 3) - 8/10. Alright, I know some of you are gonna go, "Are you crazy"? But, I know alot of other people that actually appriciate this film as do I, I like its B Movie quality, and I also love PM/and DT so it was cool to see them in a movie together. Also, to see another "Toulon" as the puppet master, Sure it has its flaws but all the PM films do but that doesn't stop us from enjoying them, I think if you go into this with an open mind, you will enjoy it too.

Thanks for reading, and looking forward to Puppet Master 10: Axis of Evil!

I might be crazy but I think I've seen you on the Transformers Age of Extinction board. Big coincidence that I'd find you here haha.

This is the first Puppet Master movie I can't sit through, I haven't even finished it I just cant do it for some reason. Why is everything that was established in past films retconned? I haven't finished the movie I plan to tonight so maybe it will all be explained. I mainly just posted this because I saw you on the AoE boards haha

I will not fear, fear is the mind killer

This post is almost a decade old so there's no doubt you've made your decision by now, but for anyone else who may wonder it's definitely worth it. It's my favorite of the sequels so far and worth watching no matter what others may say.

it makes a great origin story (and the retro puppets are pretty awesome, with Dr. Death being my favorite). Pity we never got to see them again after this film,

There's plenty of story to tell if they ever made a direct sequel to this. I know actor Greg Sestero has said he'd love to play young Toulon again, but Charles Band never comments on the idea. Or of bringing back Paul Le Mat from the original. He too has expressed interest in returning to the series.

I'd love to see Dr. Death join the other puppets in a modern sequel, or even AXIS 3.
