Game 1, on Tues. April 29, 1980, CBC shwoed NY Islanders at Buffalo, at least in Toronto. In a small article in that day's (or maybe the day before's) Toronto Star, a CBC spokesman was quoted as saying they were showing NYI-Buf. He said they had just showed 10 straight Minnesota games, and they wanted Canada to see Buffalo and the Islander because the audience had not seen them. Minnesota swept Toronto 3-0 in the first round, and shocked defending 4-time Cup champ Montreal 4 games to 3 in the quarterfinals. Games 2 and 3 may also have been NYI-Buf, but game 4 was definitely Phi-Min.
