Loved the book

In my early teens I read it I think twice if not three times - not in a row, but over a few years. It was an epic adventure story. That's how I remember it anyway.

I wasn't aware of any scientology politics or other nonsense when reading it, I just took it for what it was; good fun science fiction.

This movie was a comically silly shadow of the book and did it no justice whatsoever. Travolta should be ashamed to sully his mesiah's work this way. Instead he seems to revere this as some kind of masterpiece. It's baffling.
