Funniest Charachter?

I have to say I just love this show it is so funny.

So what is your favourite charachter/s?

If I had to narrow them down it would be Pauline and her pens and Herr Lip

reply

I love Babs and her taxi:

"Hop in Gents!"

And the details of her "op".

Oh, and what about "Pops"? He wasn't so much funny as revolting, but I loved the scene where his son had his girlfriend round for dinner and Pops was perving over her. Pops sends the son off to get her a Kinder Egg and when the son says she didn't like chocolate Pops does that mad thing with his hand over his eyes and says:

"well, if she doesn't want to eat the cho-co-late she can play with the toy!!"

Infamy! Infamy! They've all got in in for me!!

reply

Oh oh, I love herr lipp and pauline too!! I just love Steve, I think he's great!
Herr lipp is the best though, I love the christmas special where him and Matthew are in that creepy bedroom together and matthew breathes on him and herr lipp says "oh matthew i think one of us has done a trump! I think it's just the way he says it, I piss myself everytime.
The Herr Lipp/Steve Pemberton thing is great in the film too!

reply

Hard to pick one, but I'd probably have to say Pauline too, or Tubbs.

Also one character that probably won't get much of a mention since he only appeared once was the cave guide, "Some people like darkness. Me, I don't care for it, it's in the darkness where I see the boys face..."

If you're like me, it's possible you're a clone generated from my stolen DNA

reply

I adore Pauline as much as I want to hit her with a shovel - which is a lot. I've had to be "on the dole" during hard times and gals like her are a bit much.

Mickey is definitely my close 2nd favorite

reply

I loved the cave guide, too :)

reply

Mickey - he doesn't have to open his mouth to be funny. :)

The whole cast of Legs Akimbo "put yourself in a child", I cant remember their names but The Timmy Mallett look a like with the inferiority (sorry about the spelling)complex and the two gay actors and their rivalry combined with the fact that none of them can act or have any understanding of the subject matter make for compulsive viewing although they only appear twice!
Apart from them it would have to be either Pauline & Mickey or the posh bint and her mother the cleaner, although the vets misadventures are very funny too.

i like legs akimbo and papa lazarou

reply

I like Geoff Tipps... mainly because he's a clever man with a big c@ck.

'Everything comes to us from others. To Be is to belong to someone.'

reply

Hilary Briss, played by the best of the league Mark Gatiss. He's so incredibly sinister and the underplayed comedy is what makes him the best in my eyes.

reply

Herrlipp! I love that character I laughed sooo hard when I first saw him, he doesn't even have to say anything, but when he does it's some of the best dialog in the show. "OOH! I have squished your mouth brush!"

Unfortunately, killing is one of those things that gets easier the more you do it.

reply

many brilliant character, but for me it's papa lazarou, i just love that character and just genius how funny it is him calling everyone dave is

reply

Like most people on here, I love Legz Akimbo, and as an actor, I've seen (and sadly once or twice had to be in) plays like that, and the characterisation is spot on. I love Mark Gatiss' character, he's just such a terrible actor.

"You stand accused of being gay, how do you plead."

"Guilty. No, not guilty. Oh why are you judging me?"

That bit has me in hysterics every time.

God, there's so many. I love the sinister monolgues from Gatiss in both Series 1 and Series 3, as the tour guide and again as the mortician. Genius.

Randy! Nerd!

i love pauline & her pens

Without doubt it's Rev. Bernice Woodall.

Papa Lazarou "Is that dave'

"I am so smart. I am so smart. S-M-R-T, I mean, S-M-A-R-T."

reply

Im with you. Close second is Pauline. And Geoff Tipps.

Genius stuff.

I personally like Reverend Bernice. Ranting about hippies and disabled parking spaces is just hilarious. As is calling school children cowards and whoremongers and yelling at a teenage girl for masturbating. I also loved that mini sketch where she collects donations to bring back the slave trade.

reply

Me too! I used to recite her monolgues at school when I first saw it (I was quite young) I'm sure my teachers loved that...

reply

funniest character would be the peado dutch guy who keeps saying farter (father). As well as the old couple in the shop, saying "this is a local shop for local people, theres nothing for you here."

Any fool can risk his life, but it takes a hero to risk his heart.

reply

the 'peado dutch guy' is Herr Lipp, a German.
