I now see Little Britain in a different light.

Originally I thought that Little Britain was an original and entertaining comedy that brought a welcome breath of originality to the somewhat stale and similar comedies that were going around at the time.
Now however after seeing series two of The League of Gentlemen I realise that many of the ideas and concepts of Britain that have made it so popular were simply stolen from The League. The biggest example i can think of is when an artist stumbles into the local shop to buy a can of coke and asks "Are you a shop?" to which tubbs replies "No! I am a LADY!".
It annoys me that Britain can recieve so much credit for stolen ideas when The League remains so underated. What are your thoughts?

Totally agree with you, little britain copied so many characters from the league of gentlemen and the thing is they weren't as funny as them because they kept using the same gags that grew tiresome after the first series, whereas the league of gentlemen was in a league of its own!

I thought the job centre worker in the L.O.G and the fat fighters one that matt lucas played were identical but just less funny...there are so many examples when you watch the league of gentlemen again

LB Series One was genius, copycat or not. But the later series made it much more slapstick and less funny than LOG.

I think that LOG get the recognition they deserve, and the best kind of recognition. The majority of LB fans are the ones who are easy to get laughs from and thrive simply on catch phrases. The League go a lot deeper than that and subsequently their fan base is simply more select and (probably) of higher intelligence. If I was a comedian I'd probably prefer it that way.

Noone I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low

TLG is brilliant and a break thru, new ideas as different styles. LB is far more the same joke over and over im surprised it worked, but it was extremely funny the first dozen times watching. TLG is also so skilled with the actors and also the hundreds of little references to many other people, movies, shows etc. Im sure they have not all been found yet.
